My sideline was able to attend Leadership this year the rest of us were unable to for one reason or another. I would have liked to attend this year since my cousin lives in Houston and I would have been able to visit with her. But life happens and things do not always work out the way we would like them to. But she kept us up to date with all the things that were going on. But the one day she emailed us a picture of a project she saw and we all thought it was genius!
Someone took the Spiral Flower Die and rolled it into a flower (of course ) but stuck a lollipop inside. How cute! I posted a pic of what the card stock looks like after it goes through the die and how it looks with the lollipop. We thought it would be great if you placed a group of these into a vase and place it on your desk at work. Your co-workers could pick them out as a fantastic work treat!

I was so excited when I got the mail yesterday. In with all my Christmas cards, I found one sent to me by my Upline, Pennie. Since Pennie moved to Washington State, I do not get to see her much except for Stampin' Up events. So I was so excited to receive a Christmas Card from her which of course she made herself. I LOVE it!

I love the "Cuddles and Kisses" stamp set in the Spring Catalog. It is (in my opinion ) the best baby sentiment stamp set they ever offered. It has sentiments for adopted babies, new grandparents, twins and the usual boy baby, girl baby, and congratulations. I think it is an extremely versatile set and I made sure I bought it. If you need an all purpose Baby Sentiment stamp set, this set is for you.
Since Libby is a very tiny girl, I wanted the card to be delicate and light. I think this is the perfect card for her. Since she lives right across the street and Lori's boys and Joy's girls are very close in ages, so I am sure we will be seeing a lot of them. Enjoy the day!

It has a lot of layers but still remains very delicate for that special woman in your life-Mom. Although my mother has passed, I am going to change the sentiment to Daughter. That will be very easy to do because the "Family Reunion" stamp set contains all the family titles that you need to make a card for that favorite relative in your life.

For our Valentine Stamp Camp last Saturday one of our projects was a bag. The bag was a CASE of a project Brian Pilling demonstrated to us at Leadership. Janet Wakeland made a cute Goldfish Treat Holder using MDS and made the Whale in a "goldfish" color. I thought it such a neat idea to connect the whale with the goldfish. So anyway...I used the bag idea that we made but used the goldfish idea. I made a couple of these bags and filled them with Goldfish Cracker bags and Dove Valentine Hearts for Eli's Teachers at Daycare. Here is a peek at the bag.
It is really the same bag only I changed the ribbon and the color of the whale. I think it is cute. And I am hoping they will enjoy their Valentine treat. It is so easy to take one idea and using the same basic concept, you can change it a bit to fit your needs.

I know, I know... I am such a picky Grandmother. I can't be satisfied with making 1 design for Eli's Class Valentine's but I had to make 2! Where Eli attends daycare, every Valentine's Day they have the kids exchange valentines. Of course being Grandma and a crafty person, I feel that I should make them for him to give to his classmates. They are supposed to be simple. So I decided to use the Hearts Collection Framelits to make the base of the card. When Eli saw this elephant, he got so excited so I knew that I just had to use that for his cards. So this is what I came up with. Very simple but oh does Eli like this card! I will say that the small Red Glimmer Paper heart was not in my original design. But I made a smudge there. So I punched out the small and placed it there. It looked good there so I decided to keep it there. That little bit of glitz finished the card off. Sometimes accidents are good things. The card is so simple there is not much else that I can say. But one thing I know is that Eli is happy Grandma made his valentine's this year! Enjoy your day!

I really like the Stamp Set "PATTERNED OCCASIONS" from the Sale- A- Bration Brochure . I wanted to show my customers a way that you could use this stamp. This is another quick and easy card. The last few cards that I have done, I have tried to make them more simple. I don't know why but sometimes, you need to change things up. All your cards do not need to be a lot of layers, buttons, ribbons or trinkets or even use fancy techniques. Sometimes the simplest card made from the heart is the best.

What a cute container idea! I think anyone would like to receive these "Toxic Treats". If you look very closely, you will be able to see eyeballs in the jar. Well actually they are chocolate candy balls wrapped in foil that look like eyeballs. I just think that this was an adorable way to give a special someone a Halloween treat. Well another busy day. I am beginning to pack for our vacation. Tonight I am returning to the school where I taught for 34 years for the annual PTA sponsored "Pumpkin Painting with Pop" event. I am one of the 3 guest judges. It will be nice to see some of my former students and their families. When I saw this single stamp, I just knew I had to have it! I love this stamp. But sometimes when you see a solid stamp that has a lot of different components together, it is hard to think what to do with it. But when I saw this card, I knew exactly what I needed to do to get those leaves looking like Autumn leaves. I used a "Baby Wipe Background " technique to create those multi-colored leaves. This card came out better than what I thought it would. I like how the leaves look as though they are changing colors. I used markers to make the bird stand out from the leaves. I tried to use a color combination that I had not used for a while. Sometimes it seems like I get stuck on colors when I make cards. That is when I have to make a conscious effort to change things up. I think it worked well on this card. Enjoy the day!
This month I am trying to be extremely organized and prepared because my oldest daughter could give birth any day now. I need to have everything cut and ready. So if I have to go to the hospital, everything I need for my classes and other events are ready. This month's class's theme is Fall/Halloween. I love Fall because of the colors. I like the idea of this card. I think it is cool that you can set it up and it is three dimensional. I love the Peek Hole where you can view the sentiment on the inside of the card.

Well, another day of babysitting the boys. It is supposed to be a beautiful day here today. Maybe we will go to the playground today since it will be so nice. Enjoy the day!
Well the baby shower is finally over and all went well. I can now show you some of the things I have been working on. We had a Candy Buffet for the favors. I made the Candy Buffet sign using the Rosette Die and Tempting Turquoise Cardstock. The letters were made using the retired Alphabet and Daffodil Delight cardstock. After making the rosettes, I adhered them to dowels and stuck them in bud vases I had and filled them with white rice. I then stuck the dowels into the vases at various heights to create more interest. The colors were various shades of turquiose and yellow. I choose different candies that were blue and yellow. I had Blue Gummi Bears, Dove chocolate wrapped in blue, yellow sweet tart ducks, Vanilla flavored Tootsie Rolls wrapped in blue and yellow salt water taffy.
Of course I needed a favor box to put the candy in. I used the Favor Box Die to create the box. Then I used the Daffodil Striped Ribbon which is now retired around the box. The Embellished Events stamp set to decorate the front. I took the Rubber Duck Toy stamp and markers to color the stamp and stamped the image on the Apothecary Labels Framelits. I placed Cello Bags into the boxes so that they could put their candy in the box to take it home. I made 60 of them. There were 50 people at the shower but it always better if you make extra just in case. That is enough for today. I will be posting more pictures tomorrow. Enjoy the day!
I posted the second of the second card that we worked on this month in my technique classes. This card uses the Faux Patina Technique. I love this card! The technique really creates a unique look that I think is so old world looking.

Although you can not see all the colors of ink that were used, all the inks were layered to create that old antique look on the cardstock. I made this card for a friend of mine who just retired. When I get back from my trip, I will give it to her. I think she will like it. Enjoy the day!
Well this is my third and final card that I created for a convention swap. I bought this set "I Dig You" last year and I love it and really do not bring it out enough. People are always looking for masculine cards and I thought why not try this for a swap. It took me a week to finally like what I finished with. I started out with pieces and then throughout the week I kept interchanging the pieces or change their size or change what position they were in. Finally Wednesday night after rearranging the pieces for 2 days, I settled on this layout. If I was making this card for me, I would have put some more details on it. Maybe some paper piercing or brads or just something to make the card pop. But when you are mass producing cards, then you need to step back a bit and go with the Less is More philosophy.

Well there will soon be another Baptism in our family. So I was busy over the weekend trying to get the invitations made so they could go out today. It was a last minute decision and was not made until Thursday. I guess you wonder why we are planning this event so fast. Lori's husband is from Arizona and his parents were waiting until the baby was born to come in for a visit. Well they were finally able to make there plans and are coming in right after I get back from Convention. They were here for Eli's Baptism and Lori and her husband decided that it would be nice if his parents could also be here for the new little guy. So as soon as there plans were made, the kids started to make plans for this Baptism. Needless to say, I had to quickly come up with an invite. Any other time it would not be too much to do but right now I am trying to get my swaps done for convention. But now the invitations are done so all it all worked out. I have been racking my brain all weekend to come up with ideas for my swaps at Convention. I have never been before and I am so excited to go. I want to make sure I have a decent card to swap. I love this color combination! I use it a lot. For some reason this color combination speaks to me. The blues and green give me such a cool and serene feeling and the pop of Calypso Coral is enough to make the card interesting.
The other thing I like about this card is the technique I used on the flower and leaves. It is called Water Splash. All you have to do is is stamp the image with Classic Ink and then spritz a little water on the stamp and then stamp the image. I love it because it creates such a neat effect on the image. I am pleased how this turned out. I already started to work on this card. I plan to finsh and cut all the pieces but leave the adhering them together until I leave for Salt Lake City. I am going out to Salt Lake City by train! Yes, by train. It will take 2-1/2 days to get there so I plan to take my swaps and finish them on the train. It will help the time go by faster I am sure.
