Thank You June

I am trying to do new things in my business this year.  That was my New Year's Resolution.

1.  I said I was going to go on Facebook and I did last week.  I am still trying to figure it out so I can co-ordinate the information I am trying to get out to my customers.

2. I said I would be better at posting and try to post other day except over the weekends.  I am getting better at that.

3.  I said I was going to use my DBWS more consistently and I did that one.

4.  I said I would start putting Thank You notes in each order.  And in June I am starting that one.

These are the Thank You notes that I made for anyone who places an order in June.  I made 3" x 3" note cards using the 2013-15  In Colors and the new "MOSAIC MADNESS" stamp set.  I had fun making them using all of the In Colors on each of the cards.  The supplies that I used for these cards were:

STAMP SETS:  Mosaic Madness, Really Good Greetings
PAPER:  Baked Brown Sugar, Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe, Strawberry Slush, Pistachio Pudding, Whisper White
INK:  Baked Brown Sugar, Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe, Strawberry Slush, Pistachio Pudding
ACCESSORIES:  Mosaic Punch, Rhinestone Jewel, Dimensionals

I still have more goals I want to attain before the end of the year but I am doing one at a time.  I thought if I tried too many things at once it would be too overwhelming and I would give up.  But taking one goal at a time and achieving it, makes me excited to do the next one.  I hope my customers will like the new things I am doing.  I know I am feeling better  that I am trying new things. And I hope you enjoyed the Sneak Peek!  Enjoy the day!

A Gingham Garden Birthday

This past weekend Susan and I tried something new and combined our downline meetings.  I thought we had a very nice time.  We discussed the release of the new catalog and of course we did a few Make & Takes.  Susan was responsible for one and I was responsible for the other one.

At Janet's there was this cute Make & Take using the Label Love stamp set and the new In-Colors DSP.  So I used the same layout but changed up the DSP and colors.  The first is the one we created at Janet's.

The next card is the one that I changed up.  I decided to use Pear Pizazz for the base of the card.  This is a former In-Color that is returning to the color line up.  I always loved this color and was sad to see it go.  But I am so happy it is back and I will be using it a lot now.  The supplies that I used ofr this card were:

STAMP SET:  Label Love, Teeny Tiny Wishes
PAPER:  Whisper White, Pear Pizazz, Island Indigo, Gingham Garden DSP
INK:  Island Indigo, Melon Mambo
ACCESSORIES:  Artisan Label Punch, Dimensions, Striped Embossing Folder

It was good to get everyone together on Saturday.  I love it when people get together to do what they love.  Enjoy the day!

An Epic Thank You

Another quick and easy thank you card to make.  Sometimes I get carried away with all kinds of extras on a card.  But there is nothing wrong a simple card, they are usually the best.  The supplies that were used for this card were:

STAMP SET:  Stretch Alphabet And Numbers
PAPER:  Gumball Green, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Pool Party, Epic Day This and That DSP
INK:  Early Espresso, Gumball Green
ACCESSORIES:  7/8" Natural Trim, Artison Label Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, 1" Circle Punch, 1-3/4" Circle Pinch, Stapler (non SU)

Just think only 1 more week until you will be able to look at and order from the "NEW" 2013-14 SU Catalog.  I can not wait!  I have a very very long list of items and new products I would like to order.  Enjoy the day!

Epic Day in Gray

The Epic Day This and That DSP is a beautiful compliment to the Basic Gray card stock.   This card is a sneak peek of  of 2 "NEW" products on the 2013-14 SU Catalog.  This is a very sleek and simple Thank You card that anybody would enjoy receiving.  The supplies used in this card are:

STAMP SET:  A Round Array (new)
PAPER:  Epic Day This and That DSP (new), Basic Gray, Whisper White, Pool Party
INK:  Basic Gray
ACCESSORIES:  7/8" Scallop Circle Punch, 1-1/4" Scallop Circle Punch, Apothecary Framelits, Big Shot, Dimensionals

When I first saw this sheet of DSP I wondered what could be done with it.  I really like how the color combination Basic Gray, Pool Party, and Whisper White look together.  It reminds me again how sometimes we need to stretch ourselves and go out side of our comfort zones.  I always surprise myself when I do that.  I usually do like what I have created when I try new things.  So don't be afraid to stretch yourself.  I think you will surprise yourself.  Enjoy the day!

Crayon Thank You

A few years ago Debbie Henderson had this card on her blog.  I thought it was so cute and just had to make one.  This is a perfect card to use for a teacher, a child or for someone who works in the field of art.  Or if you are like me, had someone in the family who worked at Crayola.

This was one of the cards that we made at my Kids Cards Stamp A Stack.  It is very easy to make and does not use a lot of supplies.  The only stamping that is on this card is the sentiment.  If you are artistic, it is very easy to draw the shape of a crayon.  The supplies used for this project are:

STAMP SET:  Petite Pairs
PAPER:  Real Red, Pink Pirouette, Basic Black
INK:  Basic Black
ACCESSORIES:  Scallop Oval Punch, Large Oval Punch, Tasteful Trim Die, Big Shot

Since I am a retired art teacher, it was not hard for me to draw out the shape of the crayon.  You can make this crayon an color you wish.  Just choose your color of card stock and create the crayon shape.  The labels are usually a lighter shade of the color of the crayon. I used this Crayon Card in the past for a thank you card for Eli's teachers.  This year, I am planning to change the sentiment on the card and use it as a retirement card for all my former colleagues who are retiring this year.  I think that they will smile when they receive this card.  Enjoy the day!

Sneak Peek of the New In Colors

Over the weekend at the downline meeting, we made many samples using product from the "NEW" 2013-14.  It is a great way to show my customers some of the new products during my Open House. It helps you understand the product better when you can see samples of what can be made with it.

This card uses all new product except for the Whisper White Cardstock and the White Baker's Twine.  When looking at this card, you can see samples of the New In Color DSP.  The New In Colors are Coastal Cabana, Pistachio Pudding, Baked Brown Sugar, Crisp Cantaloupe, and Strawberry Slush.

Also check out Punch and stamp set!  New , New, New!  It is the Artisan Label Punch and Label Love stamp set.  And this is just the beginning!  Just wait until you receive your "NEW" 2013-14 SU Catalog.  You will love, love, love it!  Only 11 more days until you will be able to order all these new products.

Enjoy the day!

The Open Sea Swap Card

On Saturday I attended a downline meeting with a different upline than my own.  My upline lives in Washington State and this demo lives much closer.  She invites demos who do not have an upline who lives close along with her own downlines.  My sideline and I try to go to her meetings at least once a quarter.  It is so nice to meet with a group of other people who love to do the same thing as you do.  One of my favorite parts of the meeting is when we get to swap with each other.  This is the swap that I put together for this past weekend's meeting.

The picture for this post did not turn out very well.  It is hard to see the details of this card.  I guess the light this morning was not as good as it usually is.  The supplies that I used for this card were:

STAMP SET:  The Open Sea
PAPER:  Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Night of Navy
INK:  Crumb Cake, Night of Navy, Versamark
ACCESSORIES:  Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine, Windows Framelits, Chevron Embossing Folder, Big Shot, 1-1/4" Circle Punch, Dimensionals, Gold EP, Heating Tool

The Night of Navy triangle is embossed using the Chevron Embossing Folder.  I think it is very hard to see in this picture.  I did that to create the feeling of the waves.  Also it is hard to see in the picture the gold embossed compass which I punched out using the circle punch.

All in all I was happy with how this swap turned out.  I was thinking that maybe I would use this card design or maybe just the layout using another stamp set for my swaps at Convention.  Wait and see until later.  Today I only have the youngest grandson to watch. So this is going to be one of the easier babysitting days this week.  Hopefully it will give me more time to get prepared for my Hostess Appreciation Gathering this Friday.  Enjoy the day!

Dress Up Like A Princess

This is one of the cards that I am offering for my Kids Cards Stamp A Stack this month.  I tried to think of what a little girl might like so I decided to use the crown and wand from the "DRESS UP" stamp set.  I also thought I wanted it to be a clean and simple layout especially since you will be making more than one at the event.  I wanted it to be glittery so I added the Silver Glimmer Paper to the card.  I also used Rhinestone jewels for the crown so it looked glitzy.

Various shades of pinks and purple help to give it a more girly feel.  I showed my girlfriend's daughter and she liked it so I am hoping this is a card the little girls will like.

I have a busy week this week.  I am getting ready for a downline meeting on Saturday, a Stamp a Stack, 2 Technique Classes and a Retirement Party.  Busy, busy.

If you would like more information on the stamp a stack con act me for more info.  Enjoy the day!

May Technique Class- Card 2

I hope all of you had a very nice Mother's Day.  Mine was very nice.  Both my daughter's, their husbands and the 3 grandsons went out to eat.  It went very well for taking 3 kids that are 2 and under in age out to a restaurant.  It was a nice day.

This the second card that we will be making this month.  This is the third different color combination that I tried with this card.  After all of the experimenting with colors, I hope you like this one.  This card was done using the "WHITE WASH"  Technique.  I started out using shades of yellow and orange to start with and ended up with the final card using various shades of pink.

The theme for this month is "EMBOSSING".  It amazes me how many different things you can do with embossing.  This month was really fun for me.  I trying new and different things with embossing.  Embossing is one of my favorite things to do when creating a card.  If interested in attending any of my technique classes this week, please contact me for more details.

Enjoy the day!

May Technique Class -Card 1

This month's theme for Technique Class is "EMBOSSING".  I decided to do the "Chalkboard Technique" for one of the cards this month. Right now it seems to be big everywhere I look.  On the cover of one of my magazines I received the other day, the background was done in the chalkboard technique.  It is a very easy technique to do.

If interested in attending a Technique Class on Tuesday @ 9:15-11:45 AM or Wednesday @ 7-9PM  contact me to join us.  There is still room in those classes.

Enjoy the day!

Thank You Teachers at Eli's Daycare

The teachers at Eli's daycare are phenomenal.  Those ladies deserve so much praise for all the good work they are doing with those kids.  So of course when Grandma was asked to make some gifts for his daycare teachers, I was happy to do it.

This is a picture of what they will be receiving today.  I made a notepad, thank you card and a gift bow for a candle.
This is the gift box that I put together to hold a small candle for his teachers.  I used the Kraft boxes from the SU catalog.  I then used the Story Time DSP.  I thought that DSP was very appropriate for the occasion.  I then used our Basic Black Taffeta Ribbon to finish off the gift box.
Outside of Notepad

I also made this notepad for those special ladies.  For this project that supplies that I used were:

STAMP SET:  None
PAPER:  Basic Gray, Pool Party, Story Time DSP
INK:  None
ACCESSORIES:  Basic Black 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon, 1-3/8" Circle Punch, Score Tool, Sticky Strip, 1/2 of a Junior Legal Pad

Inside Notepad

I hope his teachers will like what Eli gives them today.  He adores his teachers so I know he will be happy to give them the gifts.  He loves to give people gifts.  I am off to give Eli the gifts for his teachers.  I finished them up last night so I need to get them to him before he leaves for his daycare.  Enjoy the day!

Emmett's First Birthday Invite

My second Grandson will be turning 1 next month.  I can't believe that time has gone by so fast.  Of course my daughter asked me to make the invitation for his birthday party.  She decided she wanted a Cowboy theme and has some really cute ideas for it.  But I found it difficult to come up with a card for him.  So after many ideas, I decided to use the cowboy boot from "BOOTIFUL OCCASIONS".  On this card , I used some current SU product, some Retired SU product, some "NEW" SU product and (please forgive me) some non SU product. The supplies that I used for this card were:

STAMP SET:  Bootiful Occasions
PAPER:  Night of Navy, Baked Brown Sugar (NEW SU), DSP (non SU), Red Glimmer Paper, Brushed Gold
INK: Versamark
ACCESSORIES: Stars Sizzix Die (retired SU), Alphabet Sizzlets (retired SU), Big Shot, Linen Thread, Mini Silver Brads, Early Espresso Embossing Powder, Heating Tool, Glue Dots, Dimensionals

Making the number 1 was a disaster.  For some reason I first cut out the numbers and used retired Red Glitter on all the ones that were soooo messy.  I went to bed that night and was so frustrated how it was turning out when I remembered  RED GLIMMER PAPER!  Duh!  Where was my mind?  But at least I remembered before it was too late.  And I replaced all the numbers I had previously put on the stars.

All in all, I am happy with it.  My daughter and her husband are happy with it.  And Emmett is pretty happy about everything right now.  My next mission is to make something for Teacher Appreciation for Eli's Daycare Teachers.  So I have another busy day ahead of me.  Enjoy the day!

More Swaps from Baltimore Regional

I received so many beautiful swaps at Regionals last month in Baltimore.  I felt I needed to share some of them with you.  All 3 cards were made using stamp sets available in the Spring Catalog.

This gorgeous card was created by Karen Monger.  She used the "SECRET GARDEN" stamp set.  When I first saw this stamp set in the Spring Catalog, I did not feel that I needed another flower stamp set.  But I have seen so many beautiful cards using with this set, that I ended up getting it and I am happy that I did.

This card was created by Carole Warrenfeltz.  This card used by favorite stamp set "BY THE TIDE".   I love love love this stamp set.  I think you can do so much with it.

This " OH WHALE" stamp set is so cute. Adults as well as kids enjoy this set.  Every time I see a card made with this set I have to smile.  This card was created by Carol Barr.

I hope you liked these cards that these talented ladies created.  Enjoy the day!

Just Believe is Retiring

You are probably wondering why there is a picture of a monkey on this post.  This was the mascot of our Stamping Group, Love At First Stamp.  Our group decided to have a retreat in Stamford , CT because it was halfway between our group in Pennsylvania and our sidelines who live in Massachusetts.  He sat with us while we stamped ALL weekend.

At that retreat, our Upline gave us the stamp set, "JUST BELIEVE".  Here are 2 of the cards that we made there using the "JUST BELIEVE" stamp set.  These cards were made 3 years ago.  What a difference 3 years makes!  My stamping style has changed since then.  It is great to look back and see what we have made in the past.
Just wanted you to see what was done in the past with this retiring set.  And it was nice for me to look back and remember a really great time!  Enjoy the day!

April Technique Class- Card 3

This is the last card that I created for April's Technique Classes.  This "NOVELTY CARD" was created for a woman.  This idea also came from a swap that I received at a Regional or Leadership Event.  The reason I do not remember is that I have had this card in my possession for about 2 years.  I have continued to look at it and try to think how I could use it in a class but it was not until I saw the Spring Catalog that everything I was thinking about fell into place.

As you can see, I used two of the greatest (in my opinion) accessories available in the Spring Catalog.  As I looked at the original card that I had, I could see that Doily and the Flower Trim would be perfect for the neckline.  Looking at this card, reminds me of my Grandmother.  Her dresses always had these fancy lace collars.  I also used a retiring product, the Subtle's DSP Pattern Pack in Baja Breeze.  Baja Breeze is a color that will be retiring at the end of May when the 2012-13 catalog is no longer available.

This card would be great to use for a Mother's Day card but since my Mother passed a number of years ago, I decided to turn it into a birthday card.  Today is my day off from watching any of my grandsons so I plan to get a lot done today.  Enjoy your day!
