Scrappin' Kit Stamp Camp

Susan and I are getting together for another Stamp Camp in May. May is National Scrapbooking Month and our project will be an Flag Accordian Album and 2 cards made with a Simply Scrappin' Kit. It is a great way to use the Simply Scrappin' Kit in a different way other than a traditional scrapbook. We will use only half of the kit to create the album plus cards. No stamping is needed to finish these projects. All you will need are the photos to fill the album when you get home.

Here is a look at what the album looks like opened up. This would make a great gift for a teacher, graduation, birthday and more. Here are the details of the Stamp Camp:

DATE: May 21, 2011
TIME: 9 AM -Noon
WHERE: Susan's House
COST: $15

Please contact me by May 7th if you plan to attend.

The Simply Scrappin' Kit that we will be using is called "Playful Polka Dots" and can be found in the new SUMMER MINI. You can start ordering from the Summer Mini May 1st. I think you will like it. It is so bright and cheerful and can be used for any occasion. Well it is bright and sunny here today. I have to start working on Baptismal Invites so I will be very busy for the next few days. Go out and enjoy the day!

Happy Easter

This is Eli's first easter and he certainly has enjoyed it. Yesterday he colored eggs as you can see here!

And today he received his Easter basket. In his basket was this rabbit that sings and dances to a 50's tune. The bunny sings, "Who put the hop in the hoppity hoppity hop"! He loves it as you can see!
HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!

April Showers Bring May Flowers

It is raining really hard here today. It reminded me of the saying, "April showers bring May flowers." Well, it is raining and it is April so I decided to post a card with flowers. received a card at Regionals that was the inspiration for this card. There was no name on the back so I can't give credit to the person that came up with the layout. I just love the Spring Vintage DSP and decided to use it on this card. The supplies that I used for this card were:

STAMP SET: Build A Blossom
PAPER: Spring Vintage DSP, Rose Red, Whisper White, Pear Pizazz, Pink Pirouette
INK: Pretty in Pink, Pear Pizazz
ACCESSORIES: Build A Blossom Punch, Fun Flowers Die, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon

The stamp set, punch, Big Shot Die, and DSP are found in the Occasions Mini. A reminder that the last day to order form the Occasions Mini is April 30. So if you need or want something from the Mini, please contact me before the 30th.

On the card I received at Regionals, the colors were very bright and bold and reminded me more of summer. This card has a very soft feel to it and would be perfect for a Mother's Day card. I love it with these colors and paper. I am now off to play with my grandson. They are visiting for the weekend. I am enjoying this weekend. You go and enjoy the day!

Easter Carrot Cone

I know that I have not posted for a while but I was overwhelmed with the wedding invitations. I worked on them morning, afternoon, and evening for days. And now they are done and delivered so I can get back to doing my thing.

With Easter a few days away, I thought I would post a project we were shown at Regionals in Hartford. As soon as it was demonstrated I knew when I got home, I had to make one. This Easter Carrot Cone was created by using the Petal Cone Die. How cute is that! If you look closely, you can see that the stamp set, Easter Blossoms was stamped on the cone using the same color ink as the cone. You can place candy inside of it and give to someone special for Easter. The supplies that I used for this project were:

STAMP SET: Easter Blossoms
PAPER: Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive
INK: Pumpkin Pie
ACCESSORIES: Sticky Strip, 1/8" Daffodil Delight Taffeta Ribbon, Brights Buttons

I just think this is so cute! It will be showing up at my house Easter morning for my family. Today my daughter and her husband and baby Eli will be arriving at my house this afternoon for the holiday. I can't wait for his first Easter. I think the Easter Bunny will have something special for him at my house. Enjoy your day!

April Technique Sample Card 3

This is the third card that we will be making at Technique Class this month. This is a "Ribbon Rose". This picture does not do this card justice. This card in person, looks so elegant. After I was finished with it, I thought it would be perfect for a Valentine's Day card. The richness of the Cherry Cobbler on the card helps to give this car a more elegant feeling. For the class, I used Rose Red seam binding and cardstock to make this card. I found that I would not have enough if I demonstrated with the same color seam binding. So I decided to demo using the Cherry Cobbler seam binding. I was so surprised to see how much more elegant the card looked by changing the color. The supplies that I used for this card were:

PAPER: Cherry Cobbler, Cherry Cobbler DSP, Whisper White, Basic Black
ACCESSORIES: Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding, Embroidery Needle (non SU), Embroidery Thread (non SU), Pearls

I saw a card on someone else's blog that had this rose and I just loved it. You can find the tutorial for this rose at this blog just click here. The tutorial is found under tutorials and is listed as Ribbon Rose. The rose is beautiful and adds so much to the card. It looks like it would be difficult to make, but once you get started it is really very easy. Well I am going to continue working on those wedding invitations now. I am sure I will be doing that all day. Enjoy your day!

Embossed Eggs

This is a totally CASEd card from a card that I received at a swap at Leadership in Nashville. When I got the card, I really liked the simplicity of the card. I knew that I was going to make this card sometime. But when I saw the new "Summer Mini" and saw that they were offering 3 NEW colored Embossing Powders, I pulled the card out. The new Melon Mambo, Tangerine Tango, and Wild Wasabi Embossing Powders were just perfect for the eggs. The supplies that I used for this card were:

STAMP SET: Easter Blossoms
PAPER: Melon Mambo, Whisper White, Tangerine Tango, Wild Wasabi
INK: Versamark
ACCESSORIES: Tulip Frame Embossing Folder, Ticket Corner Punch, Wild Wasabi, Melon Mambo and Tangerine Tango Embossing Powders (found in the Summer Mini and will be available May 1)

The original card was more subdued in the colors, but I think these colors are very Easter looking. It is so impressive looking in person with the embossing. I would like to give credit to AnnMarie Lonas from New York for this card. This was a card that my friends and I made last night. They can't wait to order these new Embossing Powders. We had a great time last night. It is always a good time when you get together and stamp with friends. Enjoy your day!

Last Minute Easter Cards

Easter is coming fast and I need to get some cards done. So tomorrow night, 3 of my friends are coming over and we are going to make Easter Cards. This is one that I am going to make. This is a very pastel springlike card. I think it is so light and airy looking. For this card , I used the Crayon Resist technique. I stamped the Dogwood branch onto Glossy White cardstock with Staz-On Ink. I then colored in the flowers with white crayon. I think sponged over the cardstock using, Melon Mambo, Bashful Blue, and Certainly Celery. After adding the color, I took a paper towel and wiped over the entire cardstock until it is shiny and the wax is gone. I love the effect that you get from that technique. The supplies that I used for this card were:

STAMP SET: Easter Blossoms
PAPER: Bashful Blue, Whisper White, Melon Mambo, White Glossy
INK: Black Staz-On, Bashful Blue, Melon Mambo, Certainly Celery
ACCESSORIES: Tulip Frame Embossing Folder, Certainly Celery 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon, Paper Towel

I hope my family will enjoy this card when they receive it. Enjoy your day!

Bermuda Wedding

This is a sample of the wedding invitations that I am working on for a friend of my daughter. They are planning a destination wedding to Bermuda and asked if I could make the invitations for them. They came over and we talked about different things I could incorporate. They wanted to know if I could have the silhouette somewhere in the design. When I heard it was Bermuda, I immediately thought about "Tropical Party" which was in last year's summer mini . Although you can not purchase this stamp set anymore, I thought it was perfect for this invitation. The top picture features the invitation before you open it. The Bermuda
silhouette is in white and then I placed the flowers to the right of the card. The next photo is what it will look like when you open the card.
I did not put any words on the invitation yet. I just emailed pictures of what I did and I am waiting to hear from them. I am not sure if this was what they were expecting, but this is the sample that I liked the best. I hope they like it.

Well I am off to an Expo with a group of my friends from work. Enjoy your day!

April Technique Sample Card 2

This is the second card that we will be making this month at my Technique Class. This flower is another one using punches. This card is so clean and simple. The flower on the card stands out and is the focal point of the card. Ribbon leaves accent the flower and adds some elegance to the card. This card is a case from a card that I saw last year. I think it was from Gretchen Barron's blog but am not quite sure. The sentiment can be easily changed to any occasion. Those are the cards that I like the best. If you are interested in attending one of my classes this month. Please contact me.

The technique classes this month will be held on:
April 16- Saturday @ 9-11:30 AM
April 19- Tuesday @ 9:15-11:45 AM
April 20- Wednesday @ 7-9:30 PM
Cost is $10 for 3 cards/technique cards

Today will be another crazy day around this house. Eli will be coming to visit today and tomorrow. How exciting! I love being a Grandma! Also I have to see if I can get into my dentist today because I broke a tooth yesterday. Always something. Enjoy your day! I know as soon as Eli gets here today, I will be enjoying mine.

Paisley Petals Sympathy

The last couple of weeks have been crazy here for a number of reasons. One thing that has affected my family in the last 2 weeks, is that my husband's Godmother passed away very suddenly. His Godparents live next door to us. So we are in contact all the time. Throughout the years, they were like a set of extra Grandparents to my children and were close like family. We could always count on them to be there. Fanny was like a second mother and grandmother to all the kids in her family and the neighborhood. It was such a shock and now it seems so odd that we don't see her now when we are out in the yard. I made this card for her daughter and family. The supplies that I used for this card were:

STAMP SET: Thanks for Caring
PAPER: Paisley Petals DSP, Cherry Cobbler, Night of Navy, Very Vanilla
INK: Cherry Cobbler
ACCESSORIES: Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding, 2-1/2" Circle Punch, Rosettes, Tulip Frame Embossing Folder, 2 Way Glue, Dazzling Diamonds, Dimensionals

The DSP is the new Paisley Petals. This Designer Paper will be in the new 2011-12 Idea Book and Catalog. This paper is available this month in a special promotion by Stampin' Up. If you purchase $20 worth of product you may purchase this paper or get this paper FREE if you hostess a $350 workshop!

This card was very simple to make but I think it is very elegant. A lot of memories came flooding back while making this card. All I know is that I made this card with a lot of love. Enjoy your day!

April Technique Sample Card 1

This month's Technique Classes theme is "FLOWERS". I guess I am just so excited to see Spring coming that I decided that I had to make cards with bright colored flowers this month. So I am going to demonstrate flowers made using three different techniques. Jackie Topa is a demonstrator who does fantastic Punch Art I saw this Daffodil on her blog and knew I had to make a card using her idea. My daughters favorite flower is the Daffodil and so it was inevitable that I would try her technique. If you look very closely, you will be able to see a sample of the new Paisley Petal Prints DSP that is a sneak peek of DSP which will be in the 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalog. It is also part of the Spring is Blooming Promotion this month.

The technique classes this month will be held on:
April 16- Saturday @ 9-11:30 AM
April 19- Tuesday @ 9:15-11:45 AM
April 20- Wednesday @ 7-9:30 PM
Cost is $10 for 3 cards/technique cards

Contact me if interested in attending. I really like the color combination of this card and the "NEW" DSP looks beautiful on this card. Hopefully Spring is here now. Yesterday we still had some snow flurries. Today looks better. Check out Jackie Topa's blog. She does some amazing things. Enjoy the day!
