July Technique Class- Card 2

This is the second card that my customers will make this month at my technique classes. This is called a "Hinge Card"and is a cute and fun card for people to receive. I used "Sweet Scoops" stamp set for this whimsical card. Personally, I am a flower and vintage gal and this stamp set would not have been that I would have picked first. BUT....I am trying to stretch myself and create cards outside of my comfort zone and this card is my attempt at doing that. I think it came out cute. I know any of my friends would be happy to get a card like this. I just might send it to my friend for her birthday next week. The supplies that I used for this card were:

STAMP SETS: Sweet Scoops, On Your Birthday
PAPER: Island Oasis DSP, Tempting Turquoise, Rose Red, Pumpkin Pie
INK: More Mustard, Pretty in Pink, Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, Pumpkin Pie
ACCESSORIES: Rhinestone Brads, Dimensionals

If you like this card, please join me at my July Technique Classes. I have to go now and clean up my hallway. While I was typing this blog entry, my dog Lucy, decided I was not paying enough attention to her. She grabbed a bag of cotton balls and ran down the hall with it. Cottons balls were flying out of the bag as she ran down the hall. It did look comical but now I have to clean it up. She is like the little kids who get in trouble as soon as Mom gets on the phone or computer and doesn't pay attention to the kids. Well anyway... you go out and enjoy the day!

July Technique Class- Card 1

I have been getting ready for my July Technique Classes, the release of the NEW 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalog and my Open House that will display the new Catalog and products. So I have been a very busy girl. This is one of the cards that I came up with for July's Technique Classes. July's theme is "PAPER". I used Designer Specialty Paper on each card while showing different techniques that uses DSP. This card highlights the "Folded Frame" technique and I used the DSP to make the Folded Frame. This is a cute card to give someone during these hot, steamy Summer months. It could also be used as an invitation for a party this Summer. The stamp set, Texture Impressions Folder and DSP can be found in the Summer Mini. The supplies that I used for this project were:

STAMP SETS: Tropical Party, On Your Birthday
INK: Tempting Turquoise, Melon Mambo, Rose Reed, So Saffron, Soft Suede
PAPER: Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White, Rose Red, So Saffron, Soft Suede, Island Oasis DSP
ACCESSORIES: Small Oval Punch, Large Oval Punch, Linen Thread, Dimensionals, Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder

I think this card really does have a summery and party feel. I also used the Piecing Technique on the coconut shell and on the little umbrella in the coconut shell. I think you will making this card. Once you learn how to make the folded frame, it is a very easy card to make, it just looks impressive. Well I am off to take my Father to his Dr.'s appointment. I then will deliver the new catalog to some of my customers who pre-ordered the catalog. Another busy busy day for me. Hopefully tonight I will be able to try out more new products. Go out and enjoy your day!

Bella Is Leaving

The DSP Bella Bleu is retiring and I am so sad. I love this paper. It has a vintage feel to it and is extremely versatile. I made this card for a Stamp Camp using this paper. This card is made using my favorite stamp set "FRIENDS 24-7". This card was made with a minimal amount of supplies and looks beautiful. The supplies that I used for this card were:

STAMP SET: Friends 24-7
INK: Not Quite Navy
PAPER: Very Vanilla, Whisper White, Not Quite Navy, Bella Blue DSP
ACCESSORIES: Eyelet Border Punch, Kraft Taffeta Ribbon

The last few cards that I have made are quick and dimple cards. The point is that you don't need a lot of different supplies. If you have the right stamp set, colors, paper, and with a few accessories you can make a large variety of cards.

Learn to have fun with your supplies and you can do great things with your cards and scrapbook pages. Go out and have a great day!

Gift Card Holder

I am always looking for great ideas for gift card holders. My stamping sister, Susan came across a gift card holder on Becky Roberts blog. I was thinking of using her creation for my Christmas in July event. So I started to come up with a sample and realized that I did not have any Christmas DSP. So I decided I would make a sample but I used the new Greenhouse Gala DSP. This will be available July 1 when you are able to order from the new catalog. What a cute bag it created! My youngest daughter's birthday is in August and I think that this is a perfect gift card holder to use for her gift. The flowers are so bright and Summery. The supplies used for this project were:

PAPER: Greenhouse Gala DSP, Old Olive Cardstock

ACCESSORIES: Old Olive 5/8" Satin Ribbon, Snail Adhesive, Sticky Strip, non SU Tissue Paper

This was a quick, easy, and adorable project to make. Anyone would be thrilled to receive a gift card in this holder. Thanks for checking in. Go out and enjoy the day!

Relay for Life Pictures

Here are pictures of us at the Relay for Life yesterday. We started at noon walking and walked all day. This a picture of most of our team. Some were on the track walking. I will be going over again this morning and walk again until noon. It is for a great cause. We have raised a lot of money so far and I know we will be getting a lot more until the end of the day.

Enjoy your day. I think I will be pretty sore until I get home. My bones are not as young as they used to be.

June Technique Class- Card 3

This was the last card that we made for our "Shimmer" Technique Classes for June. What we did here was color the Shimmer Paint to create a colorful shimmery effect. Again the photo does not show off the shimmer on the orange butterflies. I used a lot of the new products which you will find in the new catalog. You probably are looking at this card thinking "Where did all these products come from because I have never seen them before?" Well you are right! Only the stamp sets that I used to stamp this card, are in the 2009-2010. All the paper and embellishments that I used will be in the new catty. Bet you can't wait to see all the new products that Stampin' Up has put in the new catty. I know you will love what they have put in the new catty.

Go out and enjoy the rest of the day!

June Technique Class- Card 2

"Shimmer Misting" is the second technique that we will be doing this month. On this card I used three colors that will be in the new color collections. I used Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango, and Pacific Point cardstock. I like this color combination. I think that I will be using it more through out the year. I did use Shimmer paint on this card but it is hard to see with the picture I took. It really does look better in person. The Shimmer Misting gives the card an extra touch that finishes it off very nicely.

I hope you like this card. Remember, the weekend will be here soon. So enjoy the day and the weekend. I will be busy this weekend with a technique class, a Stamp Camp and a downline meeting. What a busy weekend for me! Hope you an relax on yours.

June Technique Class- Card 1

This month's theme is "SHIMMER". There is a sneak peek on this card, maybe you can spot it. I will tell you where it is at the end this blog. It is hard to see on this card (my bad photography) but there is some shimmer. There is a lot going on on this card although it looks simple. I used the Shimmer Smooch and a stencil to get the background. I then used the stencil and sponged the design on top. After all that, I ran the cardstock through the Big Shot using a Texture Plate. It seemed to plain to me until I ran it through the Big Shot. It just seemed to need a little something extra.

The sneak peek is the sentiment at that bottom. The stamp set is called "Perfect Punches". I guarantee you will like this set. That is all you will get to see of any new products today.

I was late with this posting but had an extremely busy morning running to appointments. Go and enjoy the rest of the day!

During the month of May, my customers are given the chance to send me a list of 30 stamp sets that they guess will retire. The person who has the most correct number of stamp sets wins a basket of goodies. The winner this year was Nicole C. with 11 correct. This is what she won. Congrats Nicole! Enjoy!!!

Last Elements of Style

This is the last card using the "Elements of Style" stamp set that I will post for a while. I know you want to see some different cards from me for a change. But I just couldn't help making so many cards with this set. I just love it. The UPS man should be visiting me today with some new products and Stampin' Up. I can't wait to get my hands on them and come up with new card designs for you. Getting back to this card... another quick and easy card. This set makes it so easy to create cards that make a statement but are easy to make. The supplies that I used for this card were:

STAMP SET: Elements of Style
PAPER: Very Vanilla, Night of Navy
INK: Black Staz-On, Night of Navy, Old Olive
ACCESSORIES: Blender Pens, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon. Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spray

I tried the Smooch Spray on this card for the first time. I really like the pearly effect that it gives the card. So much to experiment with, so little time. Hopefully I will be able get my hands on the new stuff so that I can play around with it today. I am not promising anything. Yesterday was a disaster! When I went to make dinner last night, water was dripping from the ice maker. Then I looked on the floor and there was a puddle. I then picked up one of my frozen vegetable bags and it was limp so I knew I was in trouble. I checked the refrigerator and my water was not as cold as it should be. So last night I had to unload the fridge and freezer and get everything that could be saved to a cold place. Some food in the freezer had to be thrown out and I cooked others. Hopefully today will be a calmer day and that the repairman can fix it. Although.... I already had my Dad to the lab for bloodwork and the dog has to be at the groomer in a half hour. So while I jump into this crazy day, I hope you will ENJOY your day!

Last Chance Lists are Out

Today the lists came out for all the products that are leaving at the end of June. This will make room for the new products that will be in the new 2010-2011 Stampin' Up Idea Book and Catalog which starts July 1, 2010. Please take time to check out these lists. You can check out what is retiring by clicking on the icons that are on the far right column of my blog. Some of the accessories that are retiring are discounted. So make sure you take a look. If you are on my email list, you should have received the lists this morning in your email. ENJOY!!!!!

Bird and Blooms

"Elements of Style" of has become my new most favorite stamp set. I saw someone on Stampin' Connection do the bird this way and thought I would try it with this card. I like this particular vine/flower stamp. I like the way you can color each flower in seperately. Of course you need to use the markers to color this stamp to get that multi-color look. Again this is a very simple card but it looks more complicated because of the way you color the flowers/vines. The supplies that I used for this card were:

STAMP SET: Elements of Style
PAPER: Kraft(soon to be named Crumb Cake), Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry
INK: Chocolate Chip
ACCESSORIES: Chocolate Satin Ribbon, Dimensionals, Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, and Melon Mambo Markers

I am so excited! I got a sneak peek at what will be in the new 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalog. I can't wait to see the whole catalog. I really like what I saw. I know you will too. Enjoy your day too!
