Simple, Simple, Simple Elements of Style

This has to be the most simple card but it looks so nice. I got tired of using black with this set. So I went to Night of Navy. I think using the dark colors and stamping the background all over in addition to using the Square Lattice Embossing Folder makes the paper look like Toile. I like the look of Toile so I like this card. The supplies that I used for this card were:

STAMP SET: Elements of Style
PAPER: Whisper White, Night of Navy
INK: Night of Navy
ACCESSORIES: Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Pretties Kit

This is a great card to make if you are just starting out and you don't have a large variety of colors of paper and ink. Just 1 color of ink and 1 color of paper in addition to the white and you are good to go. Enjoy your day!

All A Flutter

I thought you might want a change from the Elements of Style stamp set. I am also obsessed with the new stamp "All A Flutter". I love this single stamp which depicts a more realistic butterfly. I have more butterfly cards coming. For this card I used the "En Francois" background stamp with this card. I had not used that stamp for a long time but had it out while I was working on cards for a June Stamp Camp. I decided to use it with this card because I was getting into a rut using the Embossing Folders most of the time to add texture to my cards. I decided to go back and add texture to my card using the background stamp. I started by stamping the butterflies on vellum. To color the butterflies, I first stamped the butterflies with Staz-On on Vellum, turned them over and colored in the the areas with markers. I used Glue Dots to adhere the butterflies to the background. The background was Whisper White cardstock, stamped En Francois in So Saffron, sponged So Saffron all over the Whisper White cardstock and finished it off with sponging Bravo Burgundy around the edged of the cardstock. The supplies that I used for this card were:

STAMP SETS: En Francois, All A Flutter
PAPER: Pumpkin Pie, Bravo Burgundy, Basic Black, Whisper White, Vellum
INK: So Saffron, Bravo Burgundy, Black Staz-On
ACCESSORIES: Mini Glue Dots, Bravo Burgundy, Pumpkin Pie, and So Saffron Markers

This was a very simple card to make. Sometimes the most simple card is the best and this card proves that. My trip to Connecticut yesterday was great! I enjoy spending time with my relatives. I just got back from my walk this morning and it is steamy out there. I can't wait for school to be out and then I can go for my walk earlier when it is cooler. When school is in session I walk later in the morning so that I don't get caught in the school traffic of kids walking and driving to school. I live only a few blocks from the High School and one of the Elementary Schools. So you can imagine how busy it is past my house when the kids are in school. Anyway...I hope the weather is cooler where you are. Go out and enjoy the day!

Elements of Style- Card 3

Here I go again! I am stuck on this stamp set. On this card I used the Spotlight technique. This is a very simple card only black except for the highlighted circle in which I colored the flowers using a Blender Pen with the Classic Inks. I think the Black Satin Ribbon really makes an elegant statement on this card. Black and white makes such an elegant looking card. The supplies that I used on this card were:

STAMP SET: Elements of Style
PAPER: Whisper White, Basic Black, Pretty in Pink
INK: Basic Black, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Old Olive
ACCESSORIES: Black Satin Ribbon, 1-1/4" Circle Punch, 1-3/8" Circle Punch, Dimensionals, Square Lattice Embossing Folder

The items highlighted in red are available in the Summer Mini

I am on a day trip today. I am going to Connecticut to see some of my relatives. My husband and I are taking my Dad there to visit with family. I am so excited to see my family. I will have a great day. You go out and enjoy your day!

Elements of Style- Card 2

Here is another card using the "ELEMENTS OF STYLE" stamp set. This card is so different from the last one. This card I think it so Spring like. I saw a similar card and just put my own spin on it. I used the "ALL A FLUTTER" stamp also. That is another stamp which I really like a lot. I like using a butterfly stamp and I like the more realistic looking butterfly stamps the best. That is why I was so happy that Stampin' Up put this single butterfly stamp in the Summer Mini. The supplies that I used for this card were:

STAMP SETS: En Francois, All A Flutter, Elements of Style
PAPER: Whisper White, So Saffron, Old Olive, Bashful Blue, Vellum
INK: Bashful Blue
ACCESSORIES: Bashful Blue Satin Ribbon, Scallop Oval Punch, Large Oval Punch, Pretties Kit, Mini Glue Dots , Dimensionals, and Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, and So Saffron Markers

You can find the red typed products in the new Summer Mini.

This is when I really get excited when you can find a stamp set that is very versatile. I love it when you can get different looks from one stamp set. I hope you like this card. Enjoy the day!

Elements of Style

I absolutely LOVE this stamp set. This stamp set is one from Shelli's Signature Collection. It has such a great vintage feel to it. I finally got some time to stamp this weekend. It felt so good to sit down and get a lot of stamping done. This card is such a simple card but wow what an impact it has. The supplies that I used for this were:

STAMP SET: Elements of Style
PAPER: Basic Black, Whisper White
INK: Black Staz-On, Old Olive, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose
ACCESSORIES: Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Dimensionals, Pink Satin Ribbon, Blender Pens

Supplies printed in red are found in the Summer Mini.

I spent Saturday afternoon trying to create a number of different cards from this set. It was so relaxing. Things have calmed down since my Dad has moved in with us. And now that my daughter has finished her moving into another place I have more time for myself. I am starting to do things for me again like my stamping and scrapbooking.

I know that this post is going up later than I usually post but I had computer class this morning. That put me behind everything else I had to do today. I had a great day today. I hope you enjoyed your day too.

Lady Bug Card- May Technique Card 3

This is the last card that we are making for May's Technique Classes. So many people have Ladybugs are their blog but I like the one that Rhonda Wade had her blog. Such a quick and easy card to make. This card is great for a small child, teen or an adult. Who doesn't like Lady Bugs? I use to buy them for my Mother because her name was Dot. I always think of her when I see Ladybugs because of the "Dots". I think it was time to get away from the vintage cards I like to make and have some fun with these novelty cards. With summer almost here, fun is demanded!

Everyone go out and enjoy your day!

Summer Sun Dress-May Technique Class Card 2

I have seen these cute dresses on many blogs I was looking at Stamping Pro's blog and saw them again. I thought the new "Island Oasis" DSP from the Summer Mini would look like a sundress with the tropical prints. A perfect card for all those girlfriends with Summer birthdays. I used the Scallop Circle Sizzix Die to start the shape for the dress. I then counted 4 scallops on the top for the bodice and cut inward to make the waist. The bottom of the skirt was 10 scallops across an then I cut upward toward the waist. I used ribbon to create a belt. I used one of the flowers from the stamp set "Tropical Party". After cutting it out, I pushed a rhinestone brad though the flower, ribbon and skirt before adhering the dress to the cardstock. I really liked how they turned out. I am showing 2 examples using 2 different DSP designs. I think they look quite festive and perfect for my cousin and a friend who both have July birthdays. This month's theme was Novelty Cards. I think these cards fit this months theme. Go out and enjoy the day!

Flower Pot Pocket Card-May Technique Class Card

This is one of the three Novelty Cards that we are going to be making this month at my Techniques Classes. This is a cute Pocket Card that would be perfect for a birthday for a friend or for Mom. There are so many different ways to decorate the flower pot . I have seen the butterfly punch Pansies, Sizzix Die Daisies, and many other types of flowers. I decided to use the XL Flower Punch, Five Petal Punch and Boho Flowers Punch to create my flowers. This is a really quick and easy way to create the flowers to be placed in the pot. I think it is a good project to show your customers the variety of ways that you can use the punches. They love it when I show them the different things that can done using a product.

I think that posting this card today is appropriate because it is a beautiful day today and my flowers are looking as great as those on my card. Have a great day!

Congratulations Erin

One of my friends and former co-workers gave birth to a baby girl on Thursday. I am so happy for her! So I had to make her a card. She loves to scrapbook and appreciates handmade cards and gifts because she knows the love that goes into it. I borrowed this retired set to make this card. This had to be my all time favorite stamp set and was sad to see it retire. I think I like it because it has such a vintage feel to it. I used Pretty in Pink cardstock and also the returning Pink Pirouette cardstock. I used Regal Rose ink to print the buggy and the sentiment inside. I wanted it to look very girly girl since this is her second child and the first child was a boy. I am so happy for them. Congratulations Erin and I wish all the best to you and your family!

Sunday Swap

I just got back from our "Love at First Stamp " monthly meeting. Today we went out for breakfast and it was very good. Anyway, of course we had swaps and this was mine. Every month a different person gets to pick what the theme will be for next month's swaps. This month the theme was a color combination. We needed to come up with a card using Rich Razzleberry, Certainly Celery and Whisper White. I really found it very difficult to come up with a card, although I do think it really helped to stretch my mind to come up with a card that filled those requirements. The supplies that I used for this card were:

STAMP SETS: All A Flutter, Flower Fancy
PAPER: Whisper White, Certainly Celery, Rich Razzleberry, Vellum
INK: Black Staz-On, Rich Razzleberry, Certainly Celery
Accessories: White Taffetta Ribbon, Blender Pens, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Scallop Trim Border Punch

The items that are in red, are those available in the Summer Mini.

I was stumped at first when I needed to come up with a design for this card. I am happy how it came out though. I guess that just proves that it is a good thing to go out of your comfort zone. Hopefully I will be able to get to post each day this week. Things are settling done now at my house and finally I am able to find some stamping time. I am off now to prepare for my classes this week. It is a beautiful day out here today. So go out and enjoy the day!

More Handicrafts in Ohio

After the wine tasting, we went back to our hotel for a jewelry making session. We had so much fun. all of us are very crafty people and love making things with our hands so this weekend was exactly perfect for us. This page was also one that I worked on at the event on Saturday. You can see that this program is so easy. I was able to do all these pages in one day plus a few more pages. The pages that I created were all designed by me. the program does have predesigned pages but I always start off with a blank page and build scratch. That is what is nice about this program. You can use it in many different ways and create your project at your comfort level. I am really enjoying remembering all the neat things we did that weekend. I hope you are enjoying your day also.

Wine Tasting in Ohio

Here is another page that I was working on My Digital Studio on Saturday. Just to refresh your memory, these pictures are ones that Susan took on our vacation to Longaberger in December. We starting our "Holiday Handcrafts" weekend with a wine tasting at a local winery. The pictures were taken at Buckeye Winery where we had a wonderful time. It was a great kickoff to the weekend! The tree in the picture where we are all standing, was made entirely out of green wine bottles. Looking at this page gives me such great memories of that weekend. Stamping friends are the best!

MDS made scrapbooking these pages so easy to create. I do scrapbook but I admit that it is not comfortable for me. I am always afraid to cut the picture, cut the paper, adhere embellishments, ect. I am way too picky. Anyway, using the MDS has taken the apprehension out scrapbooking for me. It is so easy to try many different things before you decide on the right one. I just got back from my computer class and it was a great one! I hope you enjoy your day as much as I am today

Scrapbook Make and Take

I told you that I was a vendor at an event on Saturday. We were all asked to do a Make & Take for the people who came in to the store. This was my Make & Take. I used some of the colors that are retiring and I also used one of the new products from the SUMMER MINI. The new products I used were the mini wheels and the Stampin' Around Builder Wheel Spindle. Who ever thought of this idea was a genius! By using the new builder wheel, you can customize the wheel anyway you'd like. You can stack 3, 2 or even just one of these mini wheels. On the left size of the pages where I used the new wheel. That was created by using three of the mini wheels. I love how you can create your own personalized wheel. For this design, I used Candle Crazy, Birthday, and So Many Stars wheels. I also used the new Punch Pack. There are three mini punches that coordinate with the Itty Bitty Bits stamp set. I needed to create a page that was simple, easy and could be done within 20 minutes. I think that I did just that by designing this page. I think they liked it. The supplies used for this project were:

STAMP SETS: Crazy for Cupcakes, Celebrate Everything
PAPER: Taken With Teal, YoYo Yellow, Pixie Pink, Whisper White, Green Galore, Assorted DSP scraps
INK: Taken With Teal, Black Staz-On
ACCESSORIES: Punch Pack, 3/4" Circle Punch, Jumbo Wheel Handle, Candle Crazy Wheel, Birthday Wheel, So Many Stars, Builder Wheel Spindle, Pixie Pink, YoYo Yellow, Taken With Teal, and Green Galore Markers, Scissors

The items in red are the items that will be retiring June 30th. The items in green are the items which you can find in the new SUMMER MINI. It is raining here right now so I hope wherever you are, you are enjoying your day!

Christmas in May?

Yesterday I was a vendor at a May event in town. I displayed some of the great products in the NEW Summer Mini. As of May 1, you can order from the Summer Mini. While I was there, I decided that I would use the My Digital Studio. I had started back in December to use MDS to create a scrapbook from our trip to Longaberger. Well, I was able to complete one page and then the holidays came, birthdays, my Dad getting sick, the move and I just put everything on the back burner. So yesterday while I was there, I worked on my scrapbook. It was a great way to show off this great product from Stampin' Up. I am so happy to tell you that I was able to finish 6 pages yesterday. I thought that I would show you one of the pages I was able to finish. Who would have thought that I would be scrapbooking Christmas pages in May. On this page I placed pictures that each of us had taken sitting on Santa's lap. Santa was a figure that was outside on the porch of one of the buildings at the Homestead. The porch was decorated for Christmas and even had a decorated tree next to Santa. It was really nice to look at all those pictures again and remember what a great time I had there with my friends. MDS is so easy to use and the options that you have to create your page are numerous. I love it! I think that I will try to do another page or two today. I am going to enjoy today. Why don't you go out and do something to enjoy the day!
