At convention they have an area with lots and lots of displays.  I thought that for today I would post pictures of just a few of the wonderful displays that were there.  Enjoy!

I'm Back!

  I just got back from Utah.  The train ride ride was great!  But I was unable to do anything about my blog until I got back.  I plan to get back to my normal posting.  I am exhausted from the trip and need to catch up on different things.  So today's post will be short and I plan to get things back to normal tomorrow.

 The first photo is a picture of all the gifts that our group gave each other.  The tote bag was made by Susan.  She used Comfort Cafe fabric by Stampin' Up and created this great tote that we all used to carry our swap cards so we could trade them.  I made 150 swaps.  Wait until you see all the great cards I received while swapping!  But that will come on a different post.  The small wallet looking object is the Tea Wallet that I made using the same fabric as Susan.  Terry gave us 2 Stampin' Up note pads and Stampin' Up pens.  With these 3 items we were ready for everything




The next picture is of the first day of convention.  What a great exciting feeling you get on the first day.

When you go into the Main Stage area for the Opening, all the employees from Stampin' Up stand in a line and high five each and every person while you are coming into the area.  This is a picture of all us arriving and all the employees are either clapping for us or high five-ing us.  It is such a rush when you come in because you know for the next few days great things will be happening.

2012 Convention Group Gifts

 When our stamping group goes to Conventions, Regionals, or Leadership, we always make small gifts for each other using SU products.  This year I decided to make a Tea Wallet using our NEW Comfort Cafe Fabric.  As you can see, it folds into this cute little wallet.  When you open it up, it will hold 4 tea bags or you could put your credit cards and other cards in it.  I think they came out cute.  I used the NEW Naturals Designer Buttons.  I saw on someone's blog last year that she made this cute little Tea Wallet for her downlines.  They were so cute and I thought that I would make them for Leadership this past January.  Well I did not get them done so I decided to make them convention this year for my Upline, Sideline, and my Downline.  Although I do not remember whose blog I saw them on, she posted a link to the blog where she found the pattern.  Click here    I hope you enjoyed today's project.                                                                                                                          

Convention Day 2- General Session 1

 What a wonderful day!  You can not even imagine what a rush it is when the doors open for General Session the for the first time.  It is such a rush that you can not describe.


This is a picture of what it is like inside the Main Stage.  There were so many people.  I think they said there were 3, 500 people attending this year!


Here is a picture of me receiving a prize from the Prize Patrol.  I won Digital Collection Disc, Silver Dazzling Details and Summer Starfruit 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon.  I was the only person in our group that day that won a gift.  What a way to start off my first Convention.

On My Way!!!

I am on my way to the train station in Philadelphia to start my journey to Salt Lake City, Utah for the SU convention.  This is my first time attending the convention and I am soooooo excited!  My credentials arrived last week and I have been holding on them tightly so that I do not lose them. My downline and I are traveling together and it will take us 2-1/2 days to get there.  I hear the scenery is fantastic from Chicago to Salt Lake City.  I am anxious to see it for myself.  I will not be able to post again until I get there.  Make sure you check back later in the week for pictures of the wonderful things that are happening at convention,  I will update you if I can.  Enjoy the day!  

Convention Swap Card #3

Well this is my third and final card that I created for a convention swap.  I bought this set "I Dig You" last year and I love it and really do not bring it out enough.  People are always looking for masculine cards and I thought why not try this for a swap.  It took me a week to finally like what I finished with.  I started out with pieces and then throughout the week I kept interchanging the pieces or change their size or change what position they were in.  Finally Wednesday night after rearranging the pieces for 2 days, I settled on this layout.  If I was making this card for me, I would have put some more details on it.  Maybe some paper piercing or brads or just something to make the card pop.  But when you are mass producing cards, then you need to step back a bit and go with the Less is More philosophy.


For this project I used the following supplies:

PAPER:  Not Quite Navy, More Mustard, Cajun Craze, Whisper White, Not Quite Navy DSP
INK:  Not Quite Navy
ACCESSORIES: 2-1/2" Circle Punch, 3" Circle Die, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Not Quite Navy, More Mustard, and Basic Black Markers


I have all the pieces cut and ready to go.  I will be putting these swaps together while I am traveling to Salt Lake City for convention.  I am going by train so I will have enough time to finish my swaps and it is a great way to pass the time away until we get there.  Once convention starts, I will try to keep you updated with what is going on out there.  So please check back.  Enjoy the day!

Convention Swap Card #2

As you know I have been very busy with all the projects that I have going this month.  This is a picture of the second swap that I am working on.  It looks much better in person.  It is hard to see the Dazzling Diamonds which are on the fur of Santa's hat.  The other embellishment that does not show up well is the Rhinestone Jewels that are placed inside the "O" in the phrase HO HO HO!  Please believe me it really does look better in person than in this photo.


I used the fantastic Chock Full of Cheer DSP.  I have used 2 complete packages of this DSP since I bought it and I have to order more.  It is a great DSP to use on those Holiday Cards.

There are no special techniques that I did to this card but I love the layout.  The layout is from an old Mojo Monday sketch.  I like this card.  I think anyone would love to receive this card during the holidays.  It is cute and whimsical.  Well I am going back to continue working on all these projects.  I have so much to do but I am sure I will get everything done in time.  Enjoy the day!

Convention Swap Card 1

I have been racking my brain all weekend to come up with ideas for my swaps at Convention.  I have never been before and I am so excited to go.  I want to make sure I have a decent card to swap.  I love this color combination!  I use it a lot.  For some reason this color combination speaks to me.  The blues and green give me such a cool and serene feeling and the pop of Calypso Coral is enough to make the card interesting.


The other thing I like about this card is the technique I used on the flower and leaves.  It is called Water Splash.  All you have to do is is stamp the image with Classic Ink and then spritz a little water on the stamp and then stamp the image.  I love it because it creates such a neat effect on the image.  The supplies that I used for this card were:

I am pleased how this turned out.  I already started to work on this card.  I plan to finsh and cut all the pieces but leave the adhering them together until I leave for Salt Lake City.  I am going out to Salt Lake City by train!  Yes, by train.  It will take 2-1/2 days to get there so I plan to take my swaps and finish them on the train.  It will help the time go by faster I am sure.  Off to do some work today and later will come back to working on my swaps.  Enjoy the day!
