A Smooch from Pennie

I was so excited this week when I opened a card from my adopted upline Pennie.  I recently recruited a downline and this was the card Pennie sent me.  Isn't it cute?  Pennie used the new "SMOOCHES" stamp set.  This stamp set is available this month and you will not be able to but it again until June 1.  That is when the new 2012-13 catalog will be available.  The supplies used for this card were:

STAMP SETS:  Summer Smooches, Friendly Phrases
PAPER:  Whisper White, Tangerine Tango
INK:  Tangerine Tango
ACCESSORIES:  Decorative Label Punch, Ovals Die, Jewels Rhinestone, Rich Razzleberry, Tangerine Tango and Lucky Limeade Markers

I am so excited for the new catalog to be available.  I can't wait to see all the new products Stampin' Up will be offering us. I think the catalog will be fantastic because I am loving this sneak peek that they are showing us.  Enjoy the day!

April Technique Class- Card 3

This is the last of the novelty cards this month.  I got this card at Regionals in Columbus this year.  I thought it was so cute!  That is what is so great about being a demo and going to SU stamping events throughout the year.  You get to meet with demonstrators from all over the US and Canada and talk and share ideas and projects.  One way we share ideas is through swaps and this is my version of the one I received from Sheri Bernor.

This card was the perfect card to go with my novelty cards this month.  This card go be given to anyone.  An adult, a teen, a young child (male or female) would enjoy getting this card.  The sentiment is from a RETIRING the end of May.  the name of the set is "ON YOUR BIRTHDAY".  This is a really great set and I used it a lot when I made cards for my friends and family.

Well I am on my way to the Physical Therapy this morning.  The weather  is off to a good start this morning.  It looks like it is going to be another wonderful day.  Enjoy your day!

April Technique Class- Card 2

This is the second novelty card that we will be working on this month.  This card is a Mother's Day card with a pop up center which holds a gift card.  I love this stamp set "FABULOUS FLORETS"  Thank goodness this stamp set is staying.  I would be so sad if this set was being retired.  I have used this color combination before.  It is Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise, Tangerine Tango and Pear Pizazz.  I think these colors go so well together and I think they are terrific colors for a Spring or Summer card.

I wanted to also show you how I decorated the envelope.  My adopted upline ( I am an orphan ) Pennie always tells us not to have naked envelopes.  And she is correct.  When you decorate your envelopes, the person who receives your card will get a smile on their face even before they open the card.  What a wonderful way to make someone happy.

And finally this is what the inside of the card looks like.  The only think is, you probably should put in a real gift card.  I did not have one but wanted to show where you would put one.  what a great surprise for your Mother or Mother-in-Law when they open the card and find a gift card inside.

I made this card this morning and made it into a birthday card by replacing the sentiment on the front of the card.  I really love this card.  It turned out better than what I had envisioned.  I hope you enjoyed this card also.  Enjoy the day!

April Technique Class- Card 1

I am a little late this month posting my cards for my technique classes.  It has been a crazy month again.  We painted 2 rooms for babies that are coming in the next couple of months.  We have been going through my Father's things and trying to find good homes for his things.  There is a neighborhood yard sale next month and we are trying to get our basement and attic cleaned up a bit so we can get rid of some things at the sale.  It seems that last few months I have more things to do but less time to do them.

But anyway...I decided to do Novelty cards this month.  With Mother's Day approaching fast and Graduation ceremonies right around the corner, this seemed to be the perfect time to make this type of card.

The first card we are going to make is a "Spring Card" turning it into a Graduation Cap.  The sentiment is from the stamp set "WORD PLAY" and is perfect for  a graduation card.  I added stars that use the school colors.  I think that is a great way to add a little color to this black and white card.

There is still room for people for my Wednesday night class which is tomorrow night at 7-9:30 PM or my Saturday morning class at 9-11:30 AM.  Contact me if you are interested.

I will post another Technique Class Card tomorrow.  I will post a list of my retired stamp sets on Saturday which are available for sale at a discount.  I am giving my Technique Class customers first chance to buy the sets they would like first.  I will then make the sets I have left available to anyone else.  Enjoy the day!

Candy Holder

This was a project that I demonstrated for my workshop last weekend.  I wanted to show my customers a few projects that they could make as small gifts for Easter.  This is a cute and easy pouch to make to hold candy.  The Punched out window give a peek at what the person will be receiving.

The paper might not familiar to some of you but it is DSP from the "SPRING FEVER" Simply Scrappin' Kit from the Occasions Mini.  I love the DSP in this kit.  It is so bright and cheery,

All the supplies that I used for this project were:

PAPER: Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight DSP, Spring Fever DSP
ACCESSORIES:  Curly Label Punch, Clear Cello Bags, Scallop Border Punch, 1/2" Melon Mambo Scallop Polka Dots Ribbon, Stapler (non SU )

Sometimes you do not have to make elaborate items to make a small gift special.  The only thing I should have added was a tag.  I still have time to do that.  The customers at the workshop liked this little gift and they all asked for the directions. Well I am off for another busy day.  Enjoy the day!

Sweet Shop Workshop

Susan and I are planning another joint event together.  Since this is the last month that you can order from the Occasions Mini, we decided to pick an item from there and have a class.  The Sweet Shop stickers are just one of the great items in the mini.  I like them because I think they are great for those adults who are intimidated of stamping.  They are also great for those younger kids who want to make cards.

The cards made from them are nice because they are good to use for adults as well as teens and younger kids.  It is one of those items that has appeal to many different  types of people.  I think it is one of those items that just puts a smile on your face.

The workshop will be held on Saturday April 14 beginning at noon.  The cost is $15 for 6 cards, a gift bag, and 1/2 package of Sweet Shop Stickers.  Contact me by April 7 if you are interested in attending.

Enjoy your day!
