It's Tea Time

It has been a while since I have posted, but I have not been feeling well.  It is hard to watch the 3 kids and not feel well at the same time.  So unfortunately my stamping went to the side.  So another short post before the other 2 grandkids get dropped off this morning.

This is a quick notecard that we made at Janet's in May.  It is so cute!  And it does not take long to make it.  The supplies used for this card were:

STAMP SETS:  Fabulous Phrases, Kind & Cozy
PAPER:  Whisper White, Melon Mambo, Gingham Garden DSP
INK:  Melon Mambo, Smokey Slate
ACCESSORIES: Needlepoint Border, 1/8" Mini Brads, Dimensionals

This card would be so cute to use as a quick thank you note, a gift tag, or for anything else you can think of.  Enjoy the day!

June Technique Class-Card 3

This card is the third card that we will be making at my Technique Classes this month.  I really like this card for several reasons.  But I will discuss that later.  This month 's theme is "NEW PRODUCTS" and this card showcases 10 of the NEW products. Although I used a number of NEW products on this card, what I focused on with the card is the COLORED SIMPLY PRESSED CLAY.  I will share my technique of coloring the Simply Pressed Clay in a later post.  But for now, I will share the supplies that were used to make this card.

STAMP SETS:  Petite Pairs, EnFrancois, Stippled Blossoms
PAPER:  Whisper White, Pink Pirouette, Pear Pizazz, Strawberry Slush, Garden Gingham DSP
INK:  Pink Pirouette, Strawberry Slush, Pear Pizazz, Pistachio Pudding
ACCESSORIES:  Simply Pressed Clay, Buttons and Blossoms Simply Pressed Clay Mold, Very Vintage Designer Buttons, Strawberry Slush Marker, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Dimensionals

All products in red are the NEW products in the 2013-14.

If you look very closely, you can see a small rose.  That was what I made using the Simply Pressed Clay and the clay molds.  I mounted it on the Very Vintage Designer Button.  I saw that done on Christy Fulk's blog and thought it was such a neat way to showcase the small clay rose.  I colored the clay so that it coordinated with the card stock.  I will share with you on a future post how I colored it.

Tonight is the last Technique class that I am hosting this month.  My next project is to start working on my convention swaps.  I will be attending convention in Salt Lake City next month and I am getting so excited about going.  So exciting! Enjoy your day!

Swaps from a Meeting

I have not felt good for a few days.  So I have not felt like stamping but I will post a couple of cards from a swap that I participated in at a downline meeting.  I LOVE the "By the Tide" stamp set and here are 2 great swaps that showcase that stamp set well.

The first card is by Lou Ann Ramp.  I would never have thought to use this as a sympathy card but I think it works well.  I love the colors that she used.  The supplies that she used for this card were:

STAMP SETS:  By the Tide, Love and Sympathy
PAPER:  Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Midnight Muse
INK:  Midnight Muse, Crumb Cake
ACCESSORIES:  Linen Thread, Dimensionals, Sponge

The next card was made by Kelly Fidler.   The supplies that she used for this card were:

STAMP SET:  By the Tide
PAPER:  Pool Party, Island Indigo, Whisper White
INK: Island Indigo, Versamark
ACCESSORIES:  Pool Party EP, Heating Tool, 1" Circle Punch, Island Indigo Baker's Twine, Pearl Jewels, Dimensionals

I like this card as well.  I think both women did a wonderful job.  Both cards could be used for a man or woman.  I am going to rest now and hopefully I will feel better tomorrow.  Enjoy the day!

Open House- Make & Take

No, the catalog does not come with that bookmark.  That was the Make & Take that we made at my Open House.   When we were at Janet Wakeland's downline meeting, this was one of the Make & Take's that we made.  I loved it so much that I decided that I should make these bookmarks for all the people that were going to attend my Open House.  Then sanity took over. I then decided that maybe instead of me making bookmarks for everyone, they should make their own bookmarks.  It then dawned on me that this would be a great Make & Take.

Here is a close up of what we made.  I did use a few RETIRED products.  I loved the Two Tags Bigz Die and it is perfect to make this magnetic bookmark.  I also decided to keep using the New In Colors just like Janet had.  But I decided to make it a monogramed bookmark.  So again I used the RETIRED Lovely Letters stamp set.  I was so sorry to see that set go.  It was a very elegant alphabet set.  The supplies that I used for this project were:

STAMP SET:  Lovely Letters Alphabet (retired)
PAPER:  Baked Brown Sugar, Whisper White, Strawberry Slush, Pistachio Pudding, Coastal Cabana
INK:  Versamark
ACCESSORIES: Two Tags Bigz Die (retired), Mosaic Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Scallop Circle Punch, 1-3/8" Circle Punch, 1-1/4" Circle Punch, Gold EP, Heating Tool, Dimensionals, magnets (non SU)

My customers LOVED it.  I was so glad we made these.  I was a great way to introduce 4 of the 5, 2013-14 In Colors.  And a really nice gift for my customers.  Well I have another busy weekend so I will not post again until Monday.  Enjoy the day!

June Technique Class- Card 2

A few days ago I posted a picture of a card that I made for the retirees at my former job.  Well, I liked that card so much I used it again but changed up the colors and I added the "NEW" Simply Pressed Clay.  Well to be honest, my order did not show up with the supplies that I needed so I quickly changed  my plans to include that card.  I included Basic Black into the card and my customers really seemed to like this one a bit better than the original.  The supplies that I used for this card were:

STAMP SETS:  Teeny Tiny Wishes, Simply Sketches (hostess set)
PAPER:  Whisper White, Basic Black, Calypso Coral, Crisp Cantaloupe, Modern Medley
INK:  Crisp Cantaloupe, Tangerine Tango, Pear Pizazz
ACCESSORIES:  Artisan Label Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, Large Oval Punch, Black EP, Heating Tool, Lacey Brocade Embossing Folder (retired), Blender Pens, Clay Molds, Simply Pressed Clay

The black really does make a difference.  Just for your information, that little button on the card is not a real button but one used from the "NEW" Simply Pressed Clay and Clay Molds.  I really like working with the clay.  It is a fun way to add that little something extra to your cards.  I just wanted my customers to get a chance to work with it.  When my order comes in, I am changing the background to use one of the new embossing folders.  Enjoy the day!

June Technique Class- Card 1

Wow!  Did this weekend fly by fast.  Sorry I did not post Monday but I have been so busy with life events that I just could not squeeze in posting the last few days.  So the past few days have been an out of town wedding, a first birthday party for Emmett  held at my house, baking for my close friend's mother's funeral, then the funeral and finally a Technique Class yesterday.

So now I am back and ready to show you what I have planned for this month.  This month's theme for Technique Class is "NEW PRODUCTS".  So I made all the cards trying to use as much product from the catty that I could.  For this card I used the new Epic Day Washi Tape.  All the supplies that I used for this card were:

STAMP SETS:  Lovely as a Tree, Delightful Dozen
PAPER:  Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla
INK:  Soft Suede
ACCESSORIES:  Epic Day Washi Tape, Old Olive and Tangerine Tango Markers

My goal for this month's class was just to get the feel of using the Washi Tape and keeping the rest of the card very simple.  I  will be using the Washi Tape again in the Fall at another Technique Class but using the tape in a different way.  I like the this card.  It came out with a masculine feel and I can always use another masculine card.  Oh and if you are trying to figure out where I used the 2 markers, I used the Thumping Technique on the leaves of the tree.  The extra colors on the leaves give it a little more depth.

I will be holding 2 more Technique classes this month.  This coming Saturday morning and next Wednesday evening.  If you would like to attend, please contact me for more information.  Enjoy the day!

Thanks, Retirees!

As I said in a previous post, I have 7 friends that are retiring in a few days at the school were I taught 34 years.  All of them were great teachers and were greatly loved by the students.  The school will never be the same with so many vibrant and caring people leaving.  I needed to come up with 7 cards quickly because to be honest, I did not realize that the end of the school year was so close.  But I wanted to thank my friends for all the years that they spent dedicating their lives to make the school a warm and inviting place to educate the students.

Being short of time,  I went online and found a card made by Tami Chrinewski, I think that is how her last name is spelled and CASED her card.  So today I am posting the card I made. The supplies that I used for this card were:

STAMP SETS:  Teeny Tiny Wishes, Simply Sketches (hostess set)
PAPER:  Whisper White, Calypso Coral, Crisp Cantaloupe
INK:  Crisp Cantaloupe, Tangerine Tango
ACCESSORIES:  Artisan Label Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, Large Oval Punch, Black EP, Heating Tool, Lacey Brocade Embossing Folder (retired), Blender Pens

This is a quick post because my youngest grandson is on his way and he is sick.  so Grandma will be holding her sick little one most of the day rocking him and giving him lots of love!  Enjoy your day!

Mosaic Madness

At our downline meeting 2 weeks ago, Susan and I had prepared Make& Takes for our group.  A few days ago, I shared the card I had prepared for them.  Today, I am showing you the card that Susan prepared for them.  This card was also CASE'd from one of the cards we made at Janet Wakeland's downline meeting.  This card is a good way to showcase all the products that co-ordinate with the Mosaic Madness stamp set.  The supplies used for this card are:

STAMP SETS:  Mosaic Madness, Banner Greetings
PAPER:  Quatrefancy Specialty DSP, Whisper White, Basic Black
INK:  Island Indigo, Strawberry Slush
ACCESSORIES:  Mosaic Punch, Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder, Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons

The next few days will be extremely busy for me and my family.  We have a family wedding which is in Philly, Emmett's first birthday party, my son-in-law's family who are from Arizona are visiting, and my close friend's mother passed away yesterday.  So the weekend will be crazy with all these events happening and I will be crazed baking, cooking and getting ready for everything.  This afternoon I will be making a sympathy for my friend and her family. I have no babies to watch today so I will be able to focus on my friend and also on preparing for Emmett's birthday.  Enjoy the day!

Happy Retirement

Happy Retirement!  That seems so appropriate today because today is the last day that you can order from the 2012-13 Catalog.  We made this card at Janet's downline meeting 2 weeks ago and I thought it would be perfect for one of my Make & Take projects for my Open House yesterday.  It is a quick and easy card to make but it looks so elegant.  I think the monotone color and the little bit of bling helps to make it more elegant.

This card uses a lot of the "NEW" products that you can find in the 2013-14 Catalog.  The Coastal Cabana card stock and ink are one of the "NEW" 2013-15 In Colors.  The image is the background Wildflower Meadow stamp. And if you look closely, you can see the there is a raised image.  That is created by Wildflower Embossing Folder.  And then I used the Rhinestone Jewels to add a bit of bling.  My customers loved making this card yesterday.  They liked the fact that it was so simple, quick and easy to make yet it was so beautiful.  The complete supply list for this card is:

STAMP SETS:  Wildflower Meadow, Teeny Tiny Wishes
PAPER:  Whisper White, Coastal Cabana
INK:  Coastal Cabana
ACCESSORIES:  Rhinestone Jewels, White Baker's Twine, Dimensional

There is a reason I made this Happy Retirement card.  It is not because of the retiring products from the catalog but really I made my card with the Happy Retirement sentiment because I have 7 friends, where I used to teach, retiring this year.  This card was made with them in mind.  They only have 8 more days to work.  Soon they will be able to do whatever they want to.  Most have already made some travel plans to travel after they finish with their jobs.

Well I am off for my new adventure.  My daughter is changing jobs this week and our babysitting duties will be changing.  Starting today, we will have all 3 boys (ages 2-1/2, 1 and 9 months) 1 day a week each week.  And then some days 1 boy and some days 2 boys.  It will be different than what we have been doing.  We never had all 3 together all day before.  Some days it can be rough but this job is soooo rewarding!  Enjoy your day!
