Columbus Regionals Again

Shelly usually does her opening presentation about a project that she is working on at home.  This time she demonstrated Baby Shower favors.  Shelly's daughter is pregnant with twins and they are planning a baby shower for her.  She demonstrated for a very simple but adorable favor box for the shower they are having for her.  It is made by using the #2 Box Die.  The label is spritzed with Smooch Spray.  Just a way to glitz up a project.

This was the swap that I made for the small group that I was with at Regionals.  It is a small notepad which I made using items from the Sale- A- Bration brochure.  The DSP I used is available in the brochure as well as the cute skinny ribbon that I used to tie around the notepad.  You can only get the items in the Sale - A -Bration brochure by ordering $50 worth of product and then you can choose an item from the brochure.  You can choose from stamp sets, embossing folders, ribbon, brads, buttons, and paper which are in the brochure.  I absolutely love the DSP in the brochure.  It is so vintage looking and there is a co-ordinating stamp set which goes with it.
This next picture shows this notepad from the inside.  I love the pocket inside which can hold stamps, notes, or coupons.  It is a very practical gift.

The last picture I am going to share with you today happened after the Regional Event.  Jen's group and Susan and I went out to dinner to a quaint small place with fantastic home cooking.  While we were there, Shelly came in with a few others from SU for dinner also.  One of the women from Jen's group had told Shelly about the place where we were eating at the Regional.  We were so surprised that she had decided to go there.  But Shelly saw us and came over to our table.  Here we are just chillin' after Regionals.   Stamping, sharing ideas with other stampers, getting new ideas, and time spent with good friends. What a great day!  Enjoy your day!

Columbus Regionals!!!

What a great time we had in Columbus!  The last two regionals that I had attended, Shelly was not there.  So I was really excited when we found out that she would be at Columbus.  Of course she always starts the Regional with an inspirational talk and presentation but more about that tomorrow.  They changed the order of how they organized the event this year so we were able to talk and meet with Shelly right after her presentation.  So of course Susan and I had to go over and speak with her.  Jen was kind enough to take our picture with her.  She is so kind and down to earth.

Here is one of the Make and Takes that we made.  I think it is so cute!  It was very easy and we learned 2 tricks to make this card.  A lot of punches were used on this card.  I think I might demonstrate this card at my next home workshop.

I made a swap for the group we were with in Columbus.  Tomorrow I will post a picture of it.  I just got back from catching up on the errands that I could not do last week.  Going to try to stamp a bit tonight.  Enjoy the rest of the day!

Framelit Sympathy

I am back from Regionals and it was GREAT!!!  But I will post about Regionals tomorrow.  I wanted to post this card before I  left for Regionals.  Because Eli was not feeling well, I had to watch him extra days and was not able to get to my computer.  He had a fever and just clung to Grandma.  It is nice in a way because you know you are loved and needed.  But then you can not get things done that you wanted to get done.

This is another sympathy card that I received.  This is from Pennie who is an upline above me.  We were to meet up with each other at Leadership but of course my plans changed.  This is the card she sent me after she returned home.  The color combination is what I loved.  The pop of bright color with  the color Poppy Parade I think really gets your attention but it is still a soothing card with the majority of the card using Pool Party and Whisper White. The supplies used for this card were:

STAMPS:  Apothecary Art
PAPER:  Whisper White, Pool Party, Attic Boutique DSP
INK:  Basic Black,
ACCESSORIES:  Pool Party and Poppy Parade Markers, 1" Circle Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, Framelits Labels Collection, Perfect Polka Dots, Embossing Folder, Tasteful Trim Bigz XL Die, Big Shot

It was so nice to receive all these sympathy cards from my friends, family and my stamping family.  I think I have 1 more sympathy card to show you that I received from a stamping sister.  But that will be another day.  I will show you something from Regionals tomorrow.  I had such a nice time although it was a very long drive to get there.  I think it took us 8 hours to get there and we drove straight through except for a fast food luch break.  More about that when I post again.  Enjoy the day!

Swap for Columbus Regional

I guess you have been wondering why I have not posted lately.  Well the truth is, I have caught ANOTHER virus!  This one had me in bed from Sunday afternoon until this morning.  I am still not up to snuff but I wanted to at least post something.

This is a picture of the swap that I made for Regionals in Columbus this weekend.  I love this color combination and so I tend to make cards with this combo.  The supplies that I used for this card were:

STAMP SETS:  Teeny Tiny Wishes, Fabulous Florets, En Francois
PAPER:  Pool Party, Island Indigo, Whisper White, Glossy White
INK:  Lucky Limeade, Calypso Coral, Island Indigo
ACCESSORIES:  Waxed Paper, Finial Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Scallop Edge Border Punch, Sponges, Dimensionals, Iron

The Waxed paper was run through the Big Shot in the Finial Embossing Folder and then I ironed the waxed paper impression onto the Glossy White Cardstock.  Then I sponged, Island Indigo, Pool Party, and Lucky Limeade all over the the Glossy side of the cardstock and wiped off the extra ink.  That is how you create that mottled look.  I love it.  It adds more texture to the piece.

Well the day is long and I am exhausted for my first day up.  I am back to bed.  Enjoy the rest of the day!

A Valentine Gift for the Teacher

I wanted to give Eli's teachers a small gift for Valentine's Day.  I saw this cute idea on Pink Buckeroo's blog a while ago and have wanted to try it.  With Eli in daycare, this gave me the perfect opportunity to try it.  I was going to make this for my Leadership gifts but then was unable to attend.    This is a gift box which holds one of those tiny candles from Bath and Body works.  You can buy this size candle for 2 candles  for $5.  It is a cute and inexpensive item to give away as a gift.  Anyway, this is my version of it.

The supplies that I used for this project were:

STAMP SET:  Mixed Bunch
PAPER:  Melon Mambo, Spring Fever Simply Scrappin' Kit
INK:  Melon Mambo
ACCESSORIES:  Certainly Celery Taffeta Ribbon, Blossom Punch, 2-3/8" Scallop Circle Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, Scallop Border Punch

I love the DSP in this new "Simply Scrappin' Kit" which you can find in the new Occasions Mini.  The DSP has such great designs. You can do a lot with these Simply Scrappin" Kits besides just using them for scrapbook pages.  But getting back to these candle boxes, ou can decorate these boxes as elaborate as you want to or keep it very simple.  I decided to keep it very simple this time.  If you would like the directions for this project, you can find them here.  It is listed as Candle Box Tutorial.

It does not take a long time to make this.  What takes the longest, is decorating the gift box.  The candle fits inside the punched out 2-3/8" Scallop Circle Punch perfectly.  You can view that in the last picture.  This gift box is a perfect way to present this gift to your friend's, family, teachers, or a special person in your life.  it is bound to make you smile.

Well, I am off and running.  I am watching my Grandson again today and he really keeps me hopping!  Enjoy your day!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day to all of you.  Last night I made a few treat bags for the people in my daughter's office at work.  It is just a quick treat bag using the new "Labels Framelits".  I filled plastic bags with Hershey Valentine Kisses.  I then made the topper with the largest Labels Framelit.  A little polka dotted ribbon and a splash of bling using the Red and Silver Glimmer Paper and the treat bag is done.  How quick and easy is that!

The supplies that I used for this project were:

STAMP SET:  Teeny Tiny Wishes, En Francois
PAPER:  Pretty in Pink
INK:  Real Red, Prettty in Pink
ACCESSORIES: Silver Glimmer Paper, Red Glimmer Paper, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Stapler, Labels Framelits, 1/2" Scallop Dots Ribbon Black, Heart Punch, Dimensionals

What a cute way to give someone a treat for a special day!  It is so easy to do.  It would be very easy to make for a whole class of kids for a treat.  Wait until you see what I made for Eli's teachers for Valentine's Day.  Hopefully I can find time to post it tomorrow.  Happy Valentine's Day today and enjoy the day!

February Technique Class- Card 2

This is the second card we will be making this month.  The technique on this card is "Paper Pleating".  It is one technique you can use to make an impact on a card.  It is also one way you can use small strips of DSP.  This card also uses a lot of new products which can be found in the new Occasions Mini.  If interested in attending one of my technique classes this month, contact me for more information.

Another busy day watching Eli.  He is growing so fats and always getting into things.  HE found which drawer I keep my snacks in.  And now if he gets hungry, he goes over to my stash and brings me a bag.  So this afternoon, I  moved my snacks up high and put towels in the drawer.  Won't he be surprised tomorrow when he looks for my snacks!  Enjoy your day!

February Technique Class- Card 1

I am so excited about the projects that I will be doing with my customers this month.  I love the new items in the Occasions Mini and also the Sale-A- Bration Brochure.  So to come with projects this month was exciting.  I love the new Framelits and that is what I used on this card.  This is "Embossing Framelit".  If you want to know how I did this, contact me to attend this month's Technique Classes.  At my Technique Classes, you will make 3 cards/envelopes using 3 different techniques.  This month's theme is "ACCESSORIES"  Each card will use a different technique using 3 different accessories.  This month's techniques are:
1.  Embossing Framelit
2.  Colored Glimmer Paper
3.  Pleated Paper
Cost $10 or $5 if $25 worth of product is purchased.

The dates for the Technique classes are:
Saturday February 18 @ 9-11:30 AM
Tuesday February 21 @ 9:15-11:45 AM
Wednesday February 22 @ 7-9:30 PM

Please contact me if interested.

In Color Mixed Bunch

I loved this set as soon as I saw it.  It is a new stamp set which you can find in the Occasions Mini. Thankfully I was able to get this set free because this is one of the 2 sets that they gave out at Leadership.  I could not wait to get my hands on this set.  I wanted to use summer colors to make this card. The colors that I finally decided on were Poppy Parade and Peach Parfait.  It took me a while to figure out what color combination to use and I am happy how it turned out.  You would not believe how many different color combinations I stamped before I settled on this one.

The supplies that I used for this card were:

STAMP SETS:  Mixed Bunch, Delightful Dozen
PAPER:  Poppy Parade, Peach Parfait, Whisper White
INK:  Poppy Parade, Peach Parfait
ACCESSORIES:  Certainly Celery Taffeta Ribbon, Blossom Punch, 2 Way Glue, Dazzling Diamonds, Polka Dots, Embossing Folder, Dimensionals

I wanted to do a simple card but one that had some type of punch.  I think the color Poppy Parade does the trick.  It also seemed a little plain so I decided to add Dazzling Diamonds to the centers of the flowers to give it a little pizazz.  The Certainly Celery ribbon originally was White Satin bit it looked too heavy and did nothing for this card.  So I decided a contrasting color would do the trick.  The thinner taffeta ribbon and the green color looked so much better.

Now I have to start thinking of a design for my swaps for the Columbus Regionals.  So I am off for another full day.  You go and enjoy your day!

Eli's Daycare Valentine Cards

Well my daughter came home and told me that Eli had to have valentine cards for each child at daycare and could I please make them for him.  Being the good Grandma that I am, I of course said no problem.  Because these kids are only 1 year old, she said don't make them too fancy and do not use a lot of your cardstock.  After receiving the Heart Framelits, I thought they would be perfect to use for Eli's class cards.  This is the I card came up with.  The supplies that I used for this card were:

STAMP SETS:  Beary Best Friends, Candy Conversations (I used this on the back for the sentiment)
PAPER:  Real Red, Whisper White
INK:  Basic Black (sentiment)
ACCESSORIES:  Black Staz-On, Heart Framelits, Colored Pencils, Red Glimmer Paper, Small Heart Punch

I know that this is a very very simple card but I think it is cute for a class of pre-school children.  I used the Beary Best Friends stamp set so I could stamp the boy bear for the boys and I used the girl bear for the girls in his class.  I hope that they like them.  Enjoy your day!

Beautiful Wedding and Kids

Well the wedding is over and everybody is beginning to relax.  I won't bore you with a bunch of family photos but I will post a few.
Here is the a picture of the bride and groom.  Oh sorry, it is a picture of the Flower Girl and Ring Bearer.  The Flower Girl is the Groom's Niece and the Ring Bearer is the Bride's Nephew.  My friend got this cute picture of them dancing together.  Although they look to be the same height and age, she is 2 and he is 1.  What can I say, he is a big boy!

The wedding was wonderful!   I had some people come up to me at the reception to tell me how much they liked the Wedding Invitations, Save the Date Cards, and Name Cards that I had made. I know now that it was worth all the work that I did for the wedding.  Well now I am off to make Eli valentine cards for his daycare class.  Enjoy the day!

More Sympathy

I am showing you another one of my sympathy cards that my stamping sisters sent me.  This is such a simple card but what a beautiful card it is.  My friend Jamie made it for me.  I love the pop of color on this classic black and white card.  The black and white colors give the card a classic and elegant feel.  I am so lucky to have such good friends helping me through the last few weeks which have been difficult.  I have a few more cards to share with you but will do that another time.

Well the wedding was on Saturday and it was beautiful!  Everything went well and we had such a good time.  Tomorrow I will share a few pictures from the wedding.  Eli was so cute and had a great time at the reception.  I plan to upload the pictures today and get a few made from the ones my friends took.  Check back tomorrow.  Enjoy the day!

Valentine Card Buffet

A group of my friends and customers always ask me to dod a Card Buffet when it is close to a holiday.  They like to give cards at special occasions but don't always need as many as we make at a Stamp A Stack.  I always give them an option of 5 cards to choose from.  This year I decided to add an option of a card for kids.  I decided to use the stamp set "Beary Best Friends"  because I could just swap out the Boy Bear with the Girl Bear but still use the same layout.  I also decided to change the Real Red Cardstock with Pretty in Pink for the girl card.  The sentiment inside the card says "I Love You Beary Much". It is a great card to give if you have any little ones in your family.  This card will be going to my grandson this year.  I think he will like it.

I will be hosting the card buffet at my house on February 8 @ 6:30.  If you are interested in attending or would like more information, please contact me.

This is going to be a very busy weekend so I will not post again until next week.  My daughter is getting married on Saturday so we will be going crazy trying to get all those things that you can not do until the last few days.  Enjoy your weekend!

Mocha Sympathy

This is another Sympathy card I received from another side-line.  Susan sent me this card.  What a beautiful card that uses only DSP, cardstock and only the sentiment is stamped.  What a quick, easy, and elegant card it is to make.

The supplies used for this card were:

PAPER:  Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Mocha Morning Specialty DSP, Very Vanilla
INK:  Basic Black
STAMP SET:  Love and Sympathy
ACCESSORIES:  Black Satin Ribbon, Wide Oval Punch, Designer Frames Embossing Folder, Dimensionals

I love the stamp set "Love and Sympathy.  It has the most beautiful sentiment which goes inside the card.  That was one of the first stamp sets that I ordered from the new catalog.  I use it all the time for my sympathy cards.

Today is another busy day.  We are going over to the hall for the wedding for the last time before the wedding.  Take over what needs to be there and check to make sure everything will be there as planned. Enjoy your day!
