A Small Thanks

One of my New Years Business Resolutions last year was to start putting hand made Thank You notes in with my customers orders.  I just wanted my customers to know how much they are appreciated.  Well I have have been pretty good sticking with that business resolution and added one this year. ( that one I am keeping secret yet until I prove to myself I am able to follow it through )

This is a pic of the one that I made for January. I wanted my customers to get a close up view of the new DSP from the Occasions Catalog.  This is a sheet from the Watercolor Wonder DSP.  This small card is an example of how a great sheet of DSP and a funky sentiment can combine to create an easy and quick thank you.

The supplies that I used on this card were:

STAMP SET:  Sassy Salutations
PAPER:  Smokey Slate, Island Indigo, Watercolor Wonder DSP
INK:  Basic Black
ACCESSORIES:None

Nothing can be easier than this card and it is so cute.  You really need to check out the rest of the sheets of DSP in that package.  They are absolutely beautiful!  If you were thinking about getting this DSP,  now is the time.  Why you ask?  It is Sale-a-bration Time!  And for every $50 worth a product you buy, you can choose 1 item from the Sale-a-bration Brochure for FREE.  How great is that?  Check it out.

Today I have no babies to watch but it is still going to be a busy day.  Maybe even busier.  Because today I will be running around like a nut trying to get things done that I have not been able to find the time to do all week.  Enjoy your day!

A Flowery Leadership

My sideline was able to attend Leadership this year the rest of us were unable to for one reason or another.  I would have liked to attend this year since my cousin lives in Houston and I would have been able to visit with her.  But life happens and things do not always work out the way we would like them to.  But she kept us up to date with all the things that were going on.  But the one day she emailed us a picture of a project she saw and we all thought it was genius!

Someone took the Spiral Flower Die and rolled it into a flower (of course ) but stuck a lollipop inside.  How cute!  I posted a pic of what the card stock looks like after it goes through the die and how it looks with the lollipop.  We thought it would be great if you placed a group of these into a vase and place it on your desk at work.  Your co-workers could pick them out as a fantastic work treat!

You can find the Spiral Flower Die in the new Occasions Catalog.  There are so many things
that you can use it for.  Flowers on a wreath, candy treats, flower on cards and more.

Here is a video that will show you how it works:

Hope you enjoyed the video and saw how easy it is to do.  Enjoy the day!

Peek A Boo Valentine

Today I am going to share another card that is being offered at my Valentine Buffet.  The reason I called it my peek a boo card was because I punched out a hole on the front of the card stock and the heart was placed on the inside of the card.  This is a very simple streamlined card and I think perfect for the male in your life.  It is not a puffy card at all.

The supplies that were used for this card were:

STAMP SET:  None
PAPER:  Basic Black, Real Red, Whisper White, Silver Glimmer Paper, Red Glimmer Paper
INK:  None (unless you stamp a sentiment inside)
ACCESSORIES:  1/8" Silver Ribbon, 3/8" White Taffeta Ribbon, 2-1/2" Circle Punch, Full Heart Punch, Small Heart Punch, Scallop Border Punch, Beautifully Baroque Embossing Folder, Rhinestone Jewels, Red Sharpie (non SU)

I love the glitz on this (of course) and there is nothing on this card the makes it feel girly girl.  This is the card that I am going to give my husband this year for Valentine's Day.  I think he will like it because he knows it comes from the heart.

The snow is over and now for the shoveling out.  A friend of ours came over and plowed the driveway.  I am waiting for my son in law and the boys to come up to shovel my sidewalks.  It was beautiful yesterday watching the snow fall.  I watched the whole day!  Enjoy the day!

You Make Me Happy When Clouds are Gray

Susan and I held out joint Downline Meeting this past Saturday. Susan and I always provide 2 Make & Takes for our group.  I am in charge of one and she is in charge of the other one.  This is the card that I came up with for our event.  This card is so not me.  I usually love to use bright colors and I usually add some type of crazy detail.  But I am really happy with it.  And all the other demos at the meeting liked it too.  I showed it to some of my cutovers and they asked if I could do this card with them.  So I guess it was a hit!

The a lot of the supplies that I used for this card came from the Sale-A-Bration Brochure.  That was done on purpose because my assignment was to create a card for the demos that would showcase  products from the Sale-A-Bration Brochure.  The supplies that I used for this card were:

STAMP SET: See Ya Later
PAPER:  Basic Gray, Daffodil Delight, Smokey Slate, Whisper White, Watercolor Wonder DSP
INK:  Basic Gray
ACCESSORIES:  Banners Framelits, Sunburst Framelits, Decorative Dots Embossing Folder, Big Shot,  2-3/4" Scalloped Circle Punch, Dimensionals

For every $50 of product purchased you get to choose 1 item from the Sale-A-Bration brochure.  The "SEE YOU LATER" stamp set and "DECORATIVE DOTS" Embossing Folder that were used on this card are 2 items of 13 items available in the brochure that you can receive absolutely FREE!  If you have not yet received the brochure from me, please contact me and I will get one to you.

It is snowing here today.  So Carter went home already because his mother picked him up early hoping to get home before the roads got really bad.  I will be spending the rest of the day preparing for my Valentine Event on Saturday.  So another busy day.  Enjoy your day!

January Technique Class- Card #3

This is the last card that we made in Technique Class this month.  Everyone really liked this Shaker Card.  I saw a card like this but can not remember where.  If you contact me I will give you credit. The background was different on the card that I saw but my mind went right to the Embossing Folder, "DECORATIVE DOTS" which can be found in the Sale-A-Bration Brochure.  I thought that was a perfect background because it reminded me of snow.  After I ran the Soft Sky card stock through the Big Shot using that embossing folder, I took a Whisper White stamp pad and rubbed it over the raised dots to lighten them.  I thought it gave a more snowy look to the background.

This card was used in the GLITTER themed Technique Class.  So I place the Glitter inside the shaker frame used to create this card.  The supplies that I used for this card were:

STAMP SETS:  Festive Flurry, Best of 25 Years…Snow
PAPER:  Night of Navy, Soft Sky, Whisper White, Silver Glimmer Paper
INK:  , Whisper White, Soft Sky, Smokey Slate, Island Indigo, Pool Party, Real Red, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Black Stazon
ACCESSORIES:  Blender Pens, Shaker Frames, Silver Glitter, Dimensionals, Festive Flurry Framelits, 1/8" Silver Ribbon, Decorative Embossing Folder

The Decorative Dots Embossing Folder is available ONLY from the Sale- A- Bration Brochure.  For every $50 you spend in product, you may choose an item FREE from the brochure.  This embossing folder is one of the items that you can choose from.  The Sale is on only from January 28th to March 31st.  This is my favorite time of year at Stampin' Up because you are able to get some great product FREE.  CLICK HERE to view the brochure.

I will be posting a few more pictures this week of cards that we will be making at my Valentine Buffet. Today while the little guy is napping, I will start to get the materials cut and ready for Saturday's event. Enjoy the day!

My Hearts A Flutter!

I love love love vellum!  In the Occasions Catalog Stampin' Up is offering Vellum with metallic accents.  There are sheets with hearts, dots,  and stripes.  It comes in packages and in gold.  So it was quite natural to design a card using the vellum.

This is another card for my Valentine Buffet.  This card has a little glitz but I think it is still eloquent.  I used the stamp set "HEARTS A FLUTTER".  I just bought it and I do not know what I was waiting for.  I really like this set.

The supplies that I used for this card were:

STAMP SETS:  Hearts A Flutter, Best of 25 Years…Love
PAPER:  Real Red, Whisper WHite, Silver Foil Sheets, Fancy Foil Designer Vellum, Red Glimmer Paper, Real Red Designer Paper Stack
INK:  Real Red, Black Stazon
ACCESSORIES:  Jewel Rhinestones, Dazzling Diamonds, Dimensionals, Banner Framelits, Hearts A Flutter Framelits, Mini Glue Dots

I placed Whisper White card stock under the vellum so you would be able to see the foil hearts better.  To adhere the vellum to the card stock, I used Mini Glue dots under the foil hearts so you can not see the glue dots.  I am happy how it turned out.

If you are interested in attending my Valentine Buffet on January 25, contact me for more specific info.  Today I only have 1 grandson so it is easier to go out to stores and pick up what I need.  So I am off.  Enjoy the day!

Love You to the Moon

I am putting the finishing touches on my Valentine Buffet Event.  My customers are always looking for a kids card.  When I saw the sentiment in the stamp set, "LOVE YOU TO THE MOON AND BACK",  my mind went immediately to the stamp set "BLAST OFF".  And this is what I came up with for that event.

It is a little labor intensive because there are a few more steps than I usually do for a  group event.  But I could not help myself once I started working on this card.  Kids love shiny and glitzy things and I made sure that there was plenty of shine and glitz on this card.  I kind of went a little overboard on this but I think kids will like it.

The supplies that I used for this card were:

STAMP SETS:  Blast Off, Love You to the Moon and Back, Glorious Grunge
PAPER:  Basic Gray, Basic Black, Smokey Slate, Whisper White, Red Glimmer Paper
INK:  Night go Navy, Versamark
ACCESSORIES:  Silver Embossing Powder, Melon Mambo, Heating Tool, Small Heart Punch, 1/2" Circle Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, 1-1/4" Circle Punch, Dimensionals

My customers liked it last night when my Technique Class saw it.  All of them are coming to the event and ALL are making this card.  So I must have done something right with this card.

The Valentine Buffet event will be held on January 25.  If interested in attending, contact me.  Today I have no babies to watch, so I will be working on card for my February Stamp A Stack.  Enjoy the day!

January Technique Class- Card # 2

This is the second card that we will be making this month at my Technique Class.  I call this technique "GLITTERED EMBOSSING".  With the beautiful Gold and Silver Glitter that was carried over from the Holiday Catalog to the Occasions Catalog, I knew I had to find different ways that I could use it to glitz up my cards.  This is another way to emboss and create your own personalized Embossing Powder.  I mixed the Glitter and a Melon Mambo Embossing Powder and this is what it looks like.  You can personalize your Glitter Embossing by choosing the color of Embossing Powder you wish.  I think it is a unique way to get a bit more glitz into your cards.

I will be hosting Technique classes this week on Wednesday evening and Saturday morning.  Please contact me if you would like to attend.

Enjoy the day!

January Technique Class Card #1

This month's theme for my Technique Classes is "GLITTER".  I will be showing three different ways to use glitter on your cards.  I saw a card that Lee Conrey did CASE'd the card and used my spin on it with the glitter.  If you look very carefully, you can see the silver on the card.  At first glance, you might think I used Silver Glimmer paper but I didn't.  I used sticky strip to adhere Silver Glitter onto the card.

The Silver Glitter can be found in the Occasions Catalog along with Gold Glitter.  I was so excited when I heard that it was going to be carried over from the Holiday Catalog to the Occasions Catalog.  I think the Glitter really adds pizazz to this card.

If you are interested in attending any of my Technique Classes this month, I will be holding them on this Tuesday @ 9:15 AM, this Wednesday @ 7 PM, and this Saturday @ 9 AM.  Please contact if you plan on attending.

I will be posting the rest of the Technique Cards this week.  I am off to watch 3 very active boys.  It will be a very busy day for mr today.  Enjoy your day!

Flowerfull Heart Gift Card Holder

This is the gift card I will be offering at my Valentine Buffet Event.  This has to be the quickest and easier gift card I have ever made.  I used the tutorial from Dawn Oshefske's blog.  I used the DSP from the Fresh Prints Designer Paper Stack to create the gift card holder.

The stamp is a single stamp that Stampin' Up offers.  It is the Flowerfull Heart Stamp.  The colors are Real Red and Coastal Cabana.  When you see the opposite side of the DSP you will see why I used that color combination.
I rounded every corner using the Envelope Punch Board.  There is a corner rounder punch at the top of the board.  Love it!

This is a great gift card holder to make if you have a lot to make in a short time.  Tomorrow I plan to post another offering from the Valentine Buffet.

I will be hosting the Buffet at my house on January 25 @ 10 PM.  If interested in more info, contact me.  Enjoy the day!

A Rose for You

Another project that will be offered at the Valentine Stamp Buffet.  This is a mini frame that is decorated with a rose which was made using the Spiral Flower Die.  That is a new die which can be found in the Occasions Catalog.  You can use the die to create 3 dimensional flowers.  We made those flowers on Saturday and decided to use them to decorate the frame.  The frames were found on a "field trip" to some discount stores.  I love it when I am able to find cheap items that I can decorate using Stampin' Up products.

What we did was to stamp an insert into the frame.  We used the Eiffel Tower from the stamp set, Follow My Heart.  And here is the great part…  If you do not like that image, you can stamp on other card stock or DSP and place that in the frame!  You make a lot of different inserts and so you will be able to use it for a number of different occasions.

The 2 stamp sets that were used for this project were Perfect Pennants and Follow My Heart.

What a cute little gift to give a friend, co-worker, teacher, or family member.  It is small enough to fit on a desk at work.  I love it because it can be used all through the year not just at Valentine's Day.  Check back all this week to see other projects that will be offered.

I will be hosting this event at my home on January 25 @ 10 AM.  If interested or would like more information, please contact me.  Enjoy the day!

Valentines in the House

Myself, Susan and her downline Karen got together onSaturday to come up with ideas for a Valentine Stamping Event.  This is one of the projects that we came up with for that event.  I really enjoyed doing the collage for my Christmas gift exchange, and Susan and Karen really like it, so we decided to come up with one for Valentine's Day for our stamp camp.  So this is what the three of us came up with.  It took a while to make because we had so many ideas and we needed to to come up with 9 for the number of squares we had.  We also needed to decide on a color scheme.  Also we needed to split up the sentiments and Valentine shapes.

It was a long process to come up with the idea but once we finally decided the layout and everything, it did not take long to finish.  These are the supplies that we used for this project:

STAMP SETS:  The Best of 25 Years… Love, Perfect Pennants
PAPER:  Red Glimmer Paper, Silver Foil, Basic Black, Pink Pirouette, Whisper WHite, Real Red, Fresh Prints Designer Series Paper Stack
INK: Versamark, Black Stazon, Real Red, Old Olive
ACCESSORIES:  Circle Card Thinlets, Label Card Thinlets, Heart Punch, Small Heart Punch, Big Shot, Blender Pens, Black Embossing Powder, Jewel Rhinestones, Red Sharpie (non SU), Dimensionals, Basic Black and Real Red Markers

This will be one of the projects that we will be offering along with 4 more for a Valentine Stamp Class.  Although we came up with our ideas together, we will be offering our classes at different days and times.  I will post that information in a future post this week.  I am trying to finalize a date and time.  Today is an all 3 grandson day so it should be very busy today.  Enjoy the day!

Alright... Time to Shop!!

I am soooo excited today.  Not only did we have snowfall overnight and it looks beautiful outside.  But today starts the first day that everyone can order from the OCCASIONS Catalog!!  Now that is a reason to celebrate!

This is a card that I made for a swap that I was planning to attend tomorrow.  It is cancelled because of the weather but I thought I would post a picture of it anyway.  We were asked to create a card using some of the products that you can find in the Occasions Catalog or the SAB items that you can earn starting January 28th.  I used some products from both.

The product that I used from the Occasions Catalog is the stamp "Blessed Easter".  The stamp features those beautiful Tulips and an Easter sentiment.  For this card though, I only wanted the Tulips to show.  So I masked the sentiment off with a post it, inked up the stamp, removed the post it from the stamp and finally stamped the image.

The supplies that I used for this project were:

STAMP SETS:  Blessed Easter, Petite Pairs, En Francois
PAPER:  Strawberry Slush, Raspberry Ripple, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White
INK:  Strawberry Slush, Primrose Petals, Raspberry Ripple, Black Stazon
ACCESSORIES:  Oval Framelits, Banner Framelits, Big Shot, Pistachio Pudding Ruffled Ribbon, Dimensionals, Blender Pens

When I was finished with all the pieces and was trying different arrangements, something seemed to be missing.  So I tried the Pistachio Pudding Ruffled Ribbon and I think that helped.  It helped to make the green that was used for the leaves pop.  It is subtle but I think it was needed to tie everything together.

If you have not yet received your Occasions Catalog, contact me and I will get one to you or CLICK HERE

If you live where it is snowing and you can't get out, today is a great day to go through the new catty and go shopping for your favorite new products.  Enjoy the day!

Downline Congrats!

Every month I send out Congrats cards to my top 3 sellers.  This card is the one that I will be sending this month.  I just made a VERY simple card using some of the "NEW" products that you can find in the Occasions Catalog.  Tomorrow is the first day that you can order from the Occasions Catalog.  I am not allowed to give you details yet about the products used from the catalog until tomorrow.  But I guarantee you that you will love the new products available.

If you have not received your catalog yet, please contact me and I will get one to you.

Today I plan to do a lot of stamping using the new products so I can show you what you can do with all these great products.  There is a big snow storm that is supposed to arrive late this afternoon.  So it should be a great day to fire up the fireplace, stamp, and watch the snow fall.  We are supposed to have all 3 boys tomorrow but with the weather, it might just be 2.  But I will stamp today when I do not have to worry about watching the little guys.  If you are somewhere where it is supposed to have snowfall today, stay warm.  Enjoy the day!
