Another Easter Card Buffet Card

Last night I held my Easter Card Buffet and I realized that I forgot to post the 5th card.  So now I am posting the last card really really late.  I saw this card on a SU  demonstrator site and thought this was so adorable and would be a great card to do at a card buffet. I just had to CASE it after I saw it. The original that I saw was created by Brenda Keenan.   My customers loved it!  The only stamping on this card was the sentiment.  This card is a great example of the different ways you can use punches.  I love it when someone comes up with a different way to use a punch or a stamp than what you originally thought it was designed to do.  The wide oval punch is a great punch to help you create eggs for Easter,

This card was so simple to make.  My customers were amazed how quick they were able to complete it.  The supplies used for this card were:

STAMP SET:  Delightful Dozen
PAPER:  Whisper White, Lucky Limeade, Concord Crush, Daffodil Delight, Pretty in Pink, Tempting Turquoise and Melon Mambo DSP
INK:  Melon  Mambo
ACCESSORIES:  Tasteful Trim Die, Wide Oval Punch, Bird Builder Punch, 1/4" Pretty in Pink Grosgrain Ribbon, Black Marker

We all had a wonderful time last night.  It is always a great time when friends get together to stamp.  Enjoy the day!

One Last Easter Card Buffet Card

This is the last card that I will be offering at my Easter Card Buffet.  This card was given to me as a swap from my sideline, Susan.  We decided that we would use it for our Easter Card Buffet.  It uses that great stamp set, "BLESSED EASTER".  It is very versatile and so great.  This is a very simple card but so nice.  It is a perfect card to make if you need to make a lot of them.

There is still time to sign up for the Easter Card Buffet.  The Easter Card Buffet will be held on Wednesday, March 28 @ 7-9:30 at my house.  Contact me if you are interested in attending or would like more information.

Before I go, I would like to show you what Eli and my husband were doing this week.  I think it is so nice how close those two are.  He loves his Grandpop.  Some days you can not separate the two of them.  Eli loves the tractor and farm things.  So he loves to ride the tractor with my husband.  Although he is happy just to sit on it while John works on things in the garage.  I am so glad that I was able to catch this moment.  These are the memories which are priceless.  Enjoy the day!

Happy Easter Everybunny

This is the third card from my Technique Classes this month.  I used the TRI FOLD CARD technique for this card.  I love this fold.  My friend Buffy made me a swap many years ago when I became a demo and used this special fold.  I thought it was really unique.  I have been waiting to come up with a stamp set that I thought I could use with this neat fold.  I thought the "EVERYBUNNY" stamp set was a good choice to use for that card.

I think it is a fun fold to use for a whimsical card  for Easter.  I think this would make a cute card for a kid or even that friend or family member who is a kid at heart.

Have to make sure I have everything ready for my last technique class for the month.  I also need to start cutting cardstock for my Easter Card Buffet next Wednesday.  I will be posting the last card for that buffet tomorrow.  Enjoy the day!

March Technique Class- Card 2

I am very slow this month to upload my monthly technique cards to the computer.  I was trying to be very good about it this month but the past week has really thrown me off.  I started Physical Therapy last week and I will say it has helped me.  So that has changed my routine a bit.  So it could be the change in routine has thrown me off.

Here is the second card we will be making this month.  This fold is called "SIDE STEP CARD".  It can be be used for so many occasions but i decided to make a birthday card with it.  I like the color combination because it is bright and cheery.

The next technique card that I will post is an Easter card.  Well I am off with another busy day.  We are painting one of our bedrooms that we will be using for cribs and Pack and Plays.  With all this new babies coming and Eli, we need a place for all of them to sleep when we watch them.  So it will be a busier few days trying to get this done before next week so the new carpet can be put in.  The first baby is due in June and that will be here before you know it and we all need to be prepared.  Enjoy the day!

Another Easter Buffet Card

One of my favorite sets that is in the Occasions Mini is "HEAVEN BLESSED".   I just love the Easter sets that SU is offering this year whether it is in the main catalog or in the Mini.  When coming up with cards for an event, I always try to come up with a variety of styles so that my customers can find a card that their style.

This card I think is so delicate looking and is one of my favorites that I made. It also uses a number of new items found in the Occasions Mini.  It uses the NEW Framelits and Edgelits.  Those 2 items make this card a little bit more elegant.  The color scheme is very simple but I think if this card would be more colorful, the softness of the little bunny would be lost.  The rest of the card needed to be subtle and simple so the rabbit is highlighted.

The Easter Buffet will be held at my place on March 28 @ 7 PM.  You get to choose how which cards you would like to make and how many of each design you chose.  Contact me if you are interested in attending.  Enjoy your day!

March Technique Class- Card 1

First of all, I forgot to say that yesterdays post is a picture of one of the cards that will be available to make at the EASTER CARD BUFFET.

I have been so busy with different things that I forgot to post the cards for this month's technique classes.  The theme this month is "MORE FUN FOLD CARDS".  This is the first of the cards and I probably will tweak it a bit yet.  It is a little plain, so I will be changing it a bit.  The concept is the same though.  I will showing how to use the Framelit to enhance a Z Fold card.  It helps to make the card a more interesting fold.

Class dates for this month are:

Saturday March 17 @ 9-11:30 PM
Tuesday March 20 @ 9:15- 11:45 AM
Wednesday March 21 @ 7- 9:30 PM

Cost is $10 for the 3 cards plus technique instruction cards for each technique.

If you are interested in finding how to create this card and 2 more Fun Fold cards, please contact me.  There is still room in each class.

Enjoy the day!

Everybunny Plaid

When I saw this set in the 2011-12 SU Idea Book and Catalog last June, I fell in love with this stamp set.  Even though it was July, when I placed my first order from that catalog this stamp set was on my order.  I have waited all this time to use this set and I am soooo excited.  These little bunnies are just the cutest little animals and they are doing the cutest things.  For this Easter card I used the following supplies:

STAMP SET:  Everybunny
PAPER:  Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Regal Rose, Pool Party
INK:  Black Staz-On, Pool Party, Regal Rose
ACCESSORIES:  Daffodil Delight 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon, Striped Embossing Folder, Eyelet Border Punch, Labels Framelits, Dimensionals, Blender Pens

I love the way the plaid background came out.  It is so simple to create by using the Plaid Embossing Folder.  You ink up the embossing folder with one color and run it through the big shot.  Clean off the embossing folder, ink it with a contrasting color, turn the paper ninety degrees and place into the embossing folder.  Run it through the Big Shot and when you take it out you have created a multi-color plaid.  I think the colors create a Spring feeling to this card.  I was pleased with how it came out.

Today is babysitting day.  Here is a picture I took when I was watching him last week.  What a cutie!  Enjoy your day!

Easter Gift Card Holder

I finally got a chance to make one of those crimped envelope projects.  I have seen them on a few blogs and thought they were adorable.  Some people use them to put a few pieces of candies in and some use them as a homemade sachet.  But I thought it would be great to use as a gift card holder.  With Easter approaching soon, I needed a gift card holders for my kids for Easter.  So I pulled out the wonderful Easter set, "EVERYBUNNY" and started to come up with this gift card holder.

For this project I used:

STAMP SET:  Everybunny
PAPER:  Pretty in Pink
INK:  Black Staz-On, Bashful Blue, Old Olive, Melon Mambo
ACCESSORIES:  Envelope, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Colored Pencils, Sponges, Crimper

This is one of the projects that you can choose to make at my "EASTER CARD BUFFET" which will be held on March 28 at my house at 7 PM.  If you are interested in attending and would like more information, please contact me.

While my husband is off snowmobiling this weekend, I am trying to get one of our rooms cleaned out.  We are planning on painting it this week and install new carpet.  It is going to be our baby room.  If you are wondering why 2 retired adults are planning a baby room, I have a very simple answer for you.  We need this room because we are going to be grandparents again and again.  Yes.  Both of my daughters are going to have a baby before the end of this year!  So we are getting a room ready for babysitting these bundles of joy and a place for them to play in when they come over to visit.  We are so excited!  Well I am off to clean.  Enjoy your day!

Another Columbus Make and Take

I really liked the Make and Takes they had this year at this year's Regionals.  This card uses a technique called "Viewmaster Card"  .  I did not by this set from the Occasions Mini but after the cards we made at Regionals, I am tempted to order it.

The supplies that I worked for this were:

STAMP SET:  Send Me Soaring
PAPER: Whisper White, Lucky Limeade, Pool Party, Basic Gray, Sweet Shop DSP
INK:  Basic Gray, Pool Party, Calyso Coral, Pool Party, Lucky Limeade
ACCESSORIES:  Small Heart Punch, Scallop Border Punch, Mat Pack, Lucky Limeade Baker's Twine, 1-1/4" Circle Punch, Brad, Lucky Limeade and Calypso Coral Markers

What a wonderful time we had there, stamping, learning new ways to use our products, meeting up with old fiends, meeting new friends, and stamping!  I love going to these events!  Off to babysit Eli today.  He always keeps me busy, especially since he started walking.  Enjoy your day!  I know I will be enjoying mine playing Grandma.

Look Familiar?

This card should look familiar to you because I did post a similar card previously.  But sometimes you make a card and then think of how you can change it up and make it even better.  In my case, I needed to make a card for my third technique card in February.  No matter how hard I tried, I kept coming back to this card design.  I really liked the color combination.

What I did to step it up a notch by adding colored Glimmer Paper.  The technique here was the Colored Glimmer Paper technique and I think that it really added to the card.

To color the Silver Glimmer Paper is very easy but it can pack a big punch.  To color the Silver Glimmer paper, you need to take a darker Re-inker and aquapainter and paint the re-inker all over the Glimmer Paper.  You can use a Heating Tool to set the re-inker into the paper.

The supplies that I used for this card were:

STAMP SET:  Mixed Bunch, Delightful Dozen
PAPER:  Whisper White, Peach Parfait, Poppy Parade
INK:  Peach Parfait, Poppy Parade
ACCESSORIES:  Blossom Punch, 1" Circle Punch, Modern Label, Certainly Celery Taffeta Ribbon, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Big Shot, 2 Way Glue, Dazzling Diamonds

If you are wondering where I used the Modern Label Punch on this card,  look very closely at the Poppy Parade Flower.  On Dawn Oshefske's blog, she experimented and discovered that the Modern Label Punch fits inside the petals of the Blossom Punch.  Isn't that fantastic!  With me punching out the Colored Glimmer Paper using the Modern Label and placing it on the petals, it really added to this card.  Sometimes it is really fun to start out with a very simple card and then start adding different techniques and see how you can punch up a nice good and make it really great!  I am off to teach a class this morning.  Enjoy your day!

Last Sympathy Card

This is the last sympathy card that I will share with you that I received from a friend on the occasion of my father passing in January.  This card I received from my stamping sister Katherine from Massachusetts.  I saw this card on her blog My Magical Inkery Tour and liked it so much.  I was so happy to get it a few days later.  I was so happy to know that she was thinking about me and my family during this time.  And it felt so good to know that she took the time to create this hand stamped card.

For this card she used:

STAMP SET:  Thanks for Caring (retired)
PAPER: Whisper White, Prettty in Pink
INK:  Basic Black, Blushing Bride, Pretty in Pink
ACCESSORIES:  PAPER CUT CARD, Blushing Bride Pleated Ribbon, Adorning Accents Edgelits, Adorning Accents Embossing Folders

This is the last sympathy card that I will show you.  I was so touched by all the people that sent cards and were so supportive through this  rough time.  It was such a roller coaster time because my daughter got married 2 weeks after my father was buried.  And after that announcements of more grandchildren were made.  So my life has been a series of ups and downs later but the ups are helping us right now.  More on that later.  Got to get ready for my daughter's birthday today.  So I will be very busy as usual.  Enjoy your day!
