Vintage Vogue in Orchid Opulence

As you should know by now, I love the new stamp set "Vintage Vogue". Any time you can find a set that is this versatile, you know you got to have it. Here is another card using this set. I like the color combination of Orchid Opulence and Old Olive, so I decided to use that combination to create this card. The supplies that I used for this card were:

STAMP SETS: Vintage Vogue, Teeny Tiny Wishes
PAPER: Whisper White, Orchid Opulence, Old Olive
INK: Orchid Opulence, Old Olive
ACCESSORIES: Silver Brads, Fire Rhinestone Brads, 5/8" Old Olive Ribbon, Orchid Opulence Marker, Old Olive Marker, Small Oval Punch, Matchbox Bigz XL Die

Although this is not a complicated card, ( it doesn't use any WOW techniques or any intricate design) it is a beautiful card. I hope you like it. Go out and enjoy your day!

Razzleberyy Vintage Vogue

This has to be one of my favorite stamp sets! I love the vintage feel it has. It is also a very versatile stamp set. I like a stamp set that you can do a variety of thing with. This set can be found in the new Occasions Mini. The other new item that I really love is the butterfly embosslit. Another quick and easy card but what a statement it makes. The supplies that I used for this card were:

STAMP SET: Vintage Vogue
PAPER: Rich Razzleberry, Pretty in Pink, Old Olive, Orchid Opulence
INK: Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive
ACCESSORIES: Fire Rhinestone Brads, White Satin Ribbon, Dimensionals, Beautiful Wings Embosslit

The products which are in the new Occasions Mini are typed in red.

I don't know if you can see it on this picture but also I stamped images on the side of the card base using the same color ink as the card. That technique gives a very subtle effect and adds interest to the card. The rhinestone brad and the embossed butterflies adds the finishing touch to this card.

Tonight I am going over to my Up Line's house and we are going to work on a very special project. I will post the project online sometime next week. I can't wait until tonight. I know we will have a good time. It is always a good time when we our group gets together. Go out and enjoy your day!

Butterflies and Hugs Love Notes

When the new catalog came out, I fell in love with the "Cottage Wall DSP". The color combination in the paper was just beautiful to me, Rich Razzleberry, Orchid Opulence, and Old Olive colors go so well together. I knew I just had to figure out a way to use it with some of the new stamp sets in the Occasions Mini. Once I made the butterflies and the colors I used for them, the rest just fell into place. The supplies that I used for this card were:

STAMP SETS: Vintage Vogue, Whimsical Words( from the Sale-A-Bration Brochure)
PAPER: Whisper White, Orchid Opulence, Lovely Lilac, Elegant Eggplant, Old Olive, Cottage Wall DSP
INK: Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive
ACCESSORIES: Scallop Trim Border Punch (from the Sale-a-Bration), Hugs Love Notes, Beautiful Wings Embosslit

The items typed in red are found in the Sale-a-Bration Brochure or the Occasions Mini.

Cards don't always end up the way I plan them in my mind. Most of the time, I start out with one idea and it evolves into something else. That is what happened with this card. So don't get discouraged if the first time you work out on a card it doesn't turn out the way you like. Take the one thing you like about that card and try again using different colors, different layout, or different papers. You might find that you like it better. The point is that you should not feel badly if the first time things don't work out. Just keep trying until you find the right combination for your card and you feel good about the final outcome. Have a great day!

I Promised You a Valentine

I promised you a valentine card and here it is. I really love the new "Sending Love" DSP. The colors fit Valentines Day perfectly. If you look closely at design on the red DSP, you will find the flowers are made of tiny hearts. This card is almost made from product in the new Occasions Mini. I just love the new items Stampin' Up came out with in the latest mini. Again this card is very simple but the placement of the papers create the interest in this card. The supplies used in this card were:

STAMP SETS: I (Heart) Hearts, Holiday Best (Level 1 Hostess Set)
PAPER: Real Red, Whisper White, Pretty in Pink, Sending Love DSP
INK: Real Red
ACCESSORIES: Hugs Love Notes, Three Heart Punch, Sponge, 2 Way Glue, Dazzling Diamonds, Dimensionals

The products in red type can be found in the Occasions Mini.

The white "Hugs Love Notes" seemed so white, so I sponged Real Red on it to tone it down a bit. This way it does not stick out so much. I also put Dazzling Diamonds on the hearts so that it added a little more interest with the sparkle. I like the simplicity of this card and I hope you like it too. It is snowing lightly right now and it makes me feel so cozy watching the snow fall. I wish you a great day.

Is It Spring Yet?

I was going to post another Valentine's Day card today but when I woke up it was pouring. It is so ugly here today. It is dark, cold and just plain dreary! So I decided that I needed to post a perky card to make me feel better. I think this card did just that. The colors alone have to perk you up. I made this card last week. I was playing around with my new punches and really love the "Two Step Bird Punch". I got the idea for using both punches together from one of my customers. She had called to place an order for both and that got me to thinking. So last week I got the spring colors out and came up with this very simple but I think a nice card. Again I used a lot of the new products in the Occasions Mini. The supplies that I used for this card are:

STAMP SET: Teeny Tiny Wishes, With All My Heart
PAPER: Pretty in Pink, Whisper White, Old Olive, Bashful Blue, Shades of Spring DSP
INK: Orchid Opulence, Night of Navy, Versamark
ACCESSORIES: Extra Large Two Step Bird, Extra Large Fancy Flower, Fire Rhinestone Brads, Silver Brads, Small Oval Punch, Word Window Punch, Scallop Trim Border Punch(Sale -a -Bration), Matchbox -Bigz XL Die, Big Shot, 1/4" Pink Grosgrain Ribbon

The supplies that are in red type are products which are in the Occassions Mini or the Sale-a-Bration brochure.

I didn't realize how many punches I used until I started listing them here. This card is completely punched except for the sentiment and the inside of the punched flower. I really love this card! It is simple and cheery looking. So if where you live it is drab and dreary out today, I hope this card helped you realize that Spring is just around the corner! Have a great day!

Chocolate Bunny

While I was over at my Upline Kim's house on Thursday, both of us were working on cards for upcoming events we were having. This is a card that Kim was working on. We made a deal. I would make her a sample of yesterday's card, then she would would make me a sample of the card she was working on. So here is her card. I think it is so cute and Springy! The supplies that she used for this card were:

STAMP SET: Chocolate Bunny
PAPER: Pretty in Pink, Rose Red, Kraft, Sweet Pea DSP
INK: Craft Chocolate Chip
ACCESSORIES: Perfect Polka Dots Impression Folder, Big Shot, Iridescent Ice EP, Heating Tool, 1/2" Certainly Celery Striped Grosgrain Ribbon

I had such a nice time stamping at her house. It is so much fun to exchange ideas while working with someone. I feel I stamp better when I have someone to bounce ideas off of while I am working. With this card again, we were trying to design cards that use new products from the mini. The items that are in bright red are products from the new mini. I enjoyed the day at Kim's, so why don't you go out and enjoy the rest of your day today!

Helping Haiti

Stampin' Up has again stepped up and come up with a way that the stamping community can help. We found out yesterday what SU plans to do. From now until Feb. 28, 2010, for every I (Heart) Hearts stamp set that is sold, $2 will be donated to the American Red Cross Haiti Relief and Development Fund.

All this brings me to this card. Yesterday I went to my Upline's house to just stamp for me. For the last few days I have had so much going on it has been hard to do much for me. But yesterday I was able to get away and try to get some things done. I came up with this card using the I (Heart) Hearts stamp set. This card was very simple but did not a little more time because of the small hearts. Again I used a number of items from the new Occasions Mini. I started out trying out the punch from the Sale-A-Bration brochure. Although this punch is in the Sale-A-Bration brochure , we have been told that it will also be in the 2010-2011 catalog. From there I continued to try to use more of the new products. There is so much new on this card that I will just list the supplies that I used for this card:

STAMP SET: I (Heart) Hearts
PAPER: Pretty in Pink, Real Red, Whisper White, Sending Love DSP
INK: Real Red
ACCESSORIES: Small Heart Punch, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Scalloped Heart of Hearts Sizzlet, Mini Glue Dots, Heart Punch

All the new items from the new mini or the sale-a-bration brochure are printed in red.

After I finished the card there was so much plain space on the right side of the card. So that is when I decided to put all those tiny pink hearts with the red hearts at the bottom. the pink on pink is just so subtle that it does not compete with the other designs on the card. I will say it seemed to blah to me when I finished and that is why I added the little stamped red heart that says love. I felt that little heart added something to the card.

So here is one card that you can make using the I (Heart) Hearts stamp set. It is one way that you can help Haiti and make all your friends smile when they receive a card using this great set. A reminder that this stamp set comes in wood mount but you can also buy it in "Clear Mount". If you wish to help out Haiti by buying this stamp set, you can call me or email to place the order for you. So go out now and enjoy your day.

Does This Look Familiar?

If any of you were at Leadership, this probably looks familiar to you. I liked the layout of the scrapbook page that was made at Leadership. I also needed a Make and Take for a scrapbook crop for which I was a vendor. I also was trying to come up with an idea that would use a number of new items that are in the new Occasions Mini. The layout seemed perfect for it! I used the "Sending Love" DSP for the blocks. I love the paper! I love the fact that one side is glittery while the other side is plain but still a nice pattern. This page also gave me the chance to show off the new colors of the Corduroy Buttons. I was also able to show off one of the new stamp sets. What a quick great way to showcase new products. the supplies that I used for this project were :

STAMP SET: With All My Heart
PAPER: Sending Love DSP, Real Red, Whisper White, Pretty in Pink
INK: Real Red
ACCESSORIES: Real Red Corduroy Buttons, Linen Thread

Although this was not my original idea, I think it came out well. Everyone there liked the page. Next time though, I am making sure that it will be an original me. I enjoyed how the women there started with this idea but each put their own spin on it. And isn't that the idea? To take something you see, change it a little, and make it your own! Enjoy the day!

January Technique Class Card 3

This is the third card for my technique classes this month. I was doing so many Valentine cards that I felt I needed to come up with a different type of card for the third card. This is a Tent Topper card. The new punch is one that is found that in the new Occasions Mini. I used the EXTRA LARGE TWO STEP BIRD PUNCH. I love the new punches. Finding what DSP that I would use with this card became my next problem. But I used the DSP which is in the "Petal Party Scrappin' Kit". The bold flowers on this paper seemed to compliment the bold bird. Basically the large scallop circle at the top of this card makes it a topper. This is a very simple card but the top makes it a little more special. The supplies that I used for this card were:

STAMP SET: None except what you choose for the sentiment inside
PAPER: Pixie Pink, So Saffron, Whisper White, Petal Party DSP, Bashful Blue, Old Olive
INK: Night of Navy, Bashful Blue
ACCESSORIES: Old Olive 5-8"Grosgrain Ribbon, Extra Large Two Step Bird Punch, Scallop Circle #2 Die, Big Shot, Dimensionals, Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Folder

On the bird I sponged Night of Navy around the edge of the bird. I felt that small addition added more dimension to the bird. I also sponged Bashful Blue around the edge of the scallop circle. It helped make the white scallop a little softer looking so it did not stick out so much. I hope you enjoyed this card. Sometimes you need a bright card in the dreary winter to brighten things up. Enjoy your day!

January Technique Class Card 2

This card showcases the technique of "PAPER PIERCING", although it is hard to see it from this photo. The piercing is around the embossed heart. This card also uses a lot of the products that you can find in the new OCCASIONS MINI. I am really loving all the new products that Stampin' Up is offering in the new mini! I think that the products I used here, helps the card look a little bit more elegant. I like the more formal look you get by using the black satin ribbon but you could use red satin ribbon if you wanted to. This is basically a card front. The sentiment can be found when you lift up the flap on small white square where the heart is! What a cute way to display a sentiment! The supplies that I used for this card were:

STAMP SET: I (Heart) Hearts
PAPER: Whisper White. Real Red. Basic Black
INK: Real Red Craft Ink
ACCESSORIES: Black Satin Ribbon, Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Folder, Pinking Hearts Corner Punch, Dimensionals, Big Shot, Clear EP, Heating Tool, Piercing Tool, Mat Pack

A lot of these products are new. I love them! The new punches are so easy to use and I am so excited that Stampin' Up has provided it's customers with a variety of colors in the Satin Ribbon. I like this card and I hope my customers like it also. I am going back to my work table and see what else I can create today. Enjoy your day.

January Technique Class Card 1

Well, it has been a long time that I have posted. So sorry about that. I am hoping that I will be more regular for the rest of the month. Anyway, the husband is leaving for a snowmobile trip for a few days and I KNOW that I will have more time to work on my projects. One of the techniques that I will be doing at my classes this month is "KISSING". The big heart on this card displays this technique. So if you are attending this month, this might be one of the cards. Those people who attend my classes regularly know that sometimes I start out with one card but by the time they get to class I have changed it. I do that a lot because in my mind I am always trying to make it better. This card uses a lot of new products which can be found in the new Occasions Mini. The stamp set that was used is "I (Heart) Hearts", the DSP is "Sending Love Specialty " paper and the brad is"Sending Love Epoxy Brads" and all these adorable products is from the new Mini. Check them out. If you didn't receive your new mini yet, contact me and I will get one to you.
Go have a great day!

Baby Girl MDS

Well, things did not go as I had planned. I got my decorations away but other distractions happened during the week so I was unable to get my supplies out. The good thing though, is my new Sale-A- Bration and Mini Occasion Catalogue supplies arrived! So hopefully, I will get to play with them this weekend. Because I have not posted for a while, I thought I had better get back to My Digital Studio so I would be able to post a project.

This card was created because a former work colleague of my husband, became a father to a very cute Baby Girl! We received the announcement after Christmas in the form of a belated Christmas card. She is adorable! I needed to get a card out to her, so this is what I came up with. It is amazing how easy this program is to use! Even though I was unable to get my supplies out, I was still able to make a very cute card fit for a princess.

Next week my husband leaves for a week to go snowmobiling, so I will have a lot of alone time when I will be able to stamp, stamp, stamp! I promise I will have a lot of samples to post then. Enjoy the rest of your day!
