A Pennie Thank You

When we went to Pennie's a few weeks ago, I took her a small thank you gift for having us there. I posted the gift a few weeks ago. It was a gift holder for those small anti-bacterial gels. Pennie loves the new Owl Punch and I had decorated the gift holder with an owl sitting on a branch in front of an Autumn moon. Well yesterday when I got my mail, I opened this beautiful thank you card from Pennie. I love the color combination. She used the stamp set Nature's Nest. The color combination she used was Kraft, Not Quite Navy, and Early Espresso. This card is absolutely stunning! Thank YOU Pennie for all you do and how you support all of us.

Tomorrow I will be leaving for Baltimore and Regional. I am so excited! There are 8 of our group going and I know we will be having a great time! Have a great day!

Scallop Circle Die Make & Take

Isn't this the cutest way to give someone chocolate bars? Sallie demonstrated this at Pennie's on Saturday. Check out the three dimensional flower on the front. Isn't it just the cutest? Buffy, Susan and I thought that it was so cute, that Buffy had us do this as our Make & Take on Sunday. It such an easy way to spice up a small gift. The supplies that we used for this were:

PAPER: Jolly Holiday DSP
ACCESSORIES: Scallop Circle Die, Big Shot, Scallop Circle Punch, Vintage Brads, 1-1/4" Old Olive Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, Mini Glue Dots, Wide Oval Punch, and of course Hershey CHOCOLATE Snack Bars

You need the chocolate bars. That is the best part of this project! Who wouldn't want to receive chocolate? This post is not as long as I would have liked but this was the third time I typed this. We had a storm last night and I lost what I was typing because my router stopped working. Nothing was saved. Then I started the post again and my computer had some kind of error and it shut down and only saved the first three lines. Not a good day. Hope your day today is better. Go enjoy the day!

Pennie's Fantastic Raffle Swap

Just had to show you what I won at Pennie's raffle on Saturday. And what made it more special is that this is the raffle prize that Pennie made! It is just so gosh darn cute! This was one of the many raffle prizes that people were wishing they would win. Everyone that attended on Saturday was asked to bring a hand made-hand stamped gift. It was unbelievable what people made for it. What a unbelievable talented group of people that were there! It was such a nice day being able to all gather together and share ideas and techniques.

Pennie made a L.L. Bean style bag out of the new fabric that we offer in the Holiday Mini. It is called Candy Lane Christmas which matches our co-ordinating DSP Candy Cane Christmas. Pennie used the paper to make a Pie Box filled with 3 x 3" notecards, a memo pad with a matching pen. Just check all the different things that you can use our products for.

I am still working on swaps for Regionals, so I will busy all day. If you want to check out more of Pennie's creations check out her blog, which is listed on the side of my blog. It is Stamping With Pennie. Enjoy!

Halloween Gift Bag and Cards

Isn't this ADORABLE!!!. My friend and sideline, Buffy made it for her Raffle Gift for Pennie's event on Saturday. This was made with the "Wicked Fun Specialty" Paper. Since Stamford when Cindyrae reintroduced making gift bags to us, Buffy has been creating all types of gift bags and each bag gets better and better. The supplies that she used for the bag were:

PAPER: Wicked Fun Specialty
ACCESSORIES: Bat Punch, Rhinestones, Black Satin Ribbon, Filigree Brads

Why go to a store to buy a gift bag when you are able to make gifts with our Designer Papers? They make the most adorable gift bags. I am sure people will ask you where you bought them after they see them. I just had to show you how cute this bag is. Every time I see one of the bags she has made, I realize that I need to try again to make these bags.

Yesterday, the "Love at First Stamp" group met at Buffy's house. Since Kim moved, we are taking turns having the meetings at our homes. When I first saw this stamp set in the Holiday Mini, I knew I had to have it. This was such an easy card to make but very impressive to look at. The supplies that I used for this card were:

PAPER: More Mustard, Old Olive, Cajun Craze. So Saffron, Whisper White
INK: More Mustard, Soft Suede, Old Olive, Cajun Craze

What a Great Day!

Yesterday I went to Pennie's. Buffy, Susan and I drove down to her house for a wonderful day of stamping, swaps, and friendship. The day started out with an unexpected surprise. As I was going out the door to meet the others, I kept hearing a wooshing sound. I looked up and saw a Hot Air Balloon going right over the top of our house. It was so beautiful in the clear blue sky. So I grabbed my camera and took a picture. After seeing that, I knew the rest of the day would just get better.

The second picture is of the swap that I made for Pennie's. If it looks familiar, it is because this is a simpler version of this month's technique card. On this card I did not put the wavy ribbon on it. When I placed the ribbon on the swap card, I just used it plain. Even though I swapped a more simple card, every there liked it.

We started out with swapping our cards. Then the business part of the day took place and awards were given out. We broke for lunch and of course a lot of stories were shared. After lunch we worked on our Make & Takes and then a number of demos did what we do best and did demonstrations of various techniques. It was such a fun and informative day.

And finally, here is a picture of the three of us before we left Pennie's. But the fun did not end there. we made our annual side trip to IKEA. Of course we always find great buys there. And finally we stopped for a nice and relaxing dinner before returning home. What a great day! It is always a wonderful day when you can spend it with friends! Go out and enjoy your day!

Pennie's

I am off to Pennie's today! Pennie is about 3 uplines above me and she is so sweet. Every year she has an event at her house for Sr. Supervisors and above. It is a wonderful day of sharing ideas, make and takes, swaps and demos sharing with us various techniques. Everyone always looks forward to this event. Everyone has to make enough swaps to share with everyone attending and you must make a Raffle item. So everyone goes home with a swaps from everyone and a raffle item that another demo has made. This is my raffle item that I made. It is a Hand Sanitizer gift holder. I saw the tutorial on Erica Cerwin's blog. I used the directions to make the container but the design is mine. The supplies that I used for this project are:

STAMP SET: Seasonal Sentiments
PAPER:Night of Navy, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Soft Suede, Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, Night of Navy DSP, Daffodil Delight DSP
ACCESSORIES: 1/4" Pumpkin Pie Grosgrain Ribbon, Scallop Edge Border Punch, Bat Punch, 2-1/2" Circle Punch, Owl Punch, 1-3/4" Circle Punch, Large Oval Punch, Rhinestones, Pumpkin Pie Marker, Hand Sanitizer from Bath and Body Works

This is a cute way to give a small gift of Hand Sanitizer to a Teacher, friend, or family member. It is sure to make that small gift extra special! Well I am off for a day of stamping with a group of wonderful people. Go out and enjoy your day!

Swap

Finally I am showing you one of my swaps that I have been working on. I have 3 events in the next 18 days that need a swap. So here is one of them. I really like this stamp set and although I was not going to buy it, I finally gave in and got it. I wish you could see this in person, it is so much nicer in person. The supplies that I used for this card were:

STAMP SET: Wicked Cool
PAPER: Old Olive DSP, Rich Razzleberry, Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, Whisper White
INK: Old Olive, Versamark
ACCESSORIES: Silver Embossing Powder, Orange Glitter, 2 Way Glue, 1-3/4" Circle Punch. Scallop Circle Punch, Platinum Shimmer Paint, Sponge Dauber, Spider Web Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Basic Black and Rich Razzleberry Markers

I had so much trouble trying to come up with this card. So I looked through some of my old cards and saw one that I did one last year. The layout was one that I had made from a layout from Mojo Monday. It came out better than I thought it would.

Well I am off for the day. I am traveling to my mother's hometown to go visit some relatives. I will be gone most of the day. I hope you enjoy the day today. I know I will have a good day spending it with family.

"Just Believe" in Stamford

I have not gotten a chance to come up with any new designs the last few days because I am working on my swaps for Regionals, Pennie's and our downline meeting. I will showing those to you after the meetings but right now I am just concentrating on finishing those swaps.

Once again I am showing you one of the cars Kim had us make. This is her design using some of the new In Colors. I absolutely LOVE the new Concord Crush and that Poppy Parade makes any card pop with color. Pear Pizazz is another one of my favorites. So you can only imagine how excited I was to make this card using all those new great colors! The supplies used for this card were:

STAMP SET: Just Believe
PAPER: Poppy Parade, Concord Crush, Pear Pizazz, Whisper White
INK: Pear Pizazz, Concord Crush
ACCESSORIES: Poppy Parade Twill Ribbon, Scallop Oval Punch, Large Oval Punch

Today I hope to finish my downline swaps and finish the sample of the centerpiece for the Baby Shower. My friend Susan asked me when I thought I was going to work on the centerpieces. I told her I would have to do them in my sleep! I just have so much going on right down. I need a vacation! Well it looks like another busy day. Even if I don't get a chance today, you go out and enjoy the day!

Back to Stamford

I still have projects from Stamford that I have not posted yet. I decided that I would post one of those cards today. Kim, my upline, gave each one of us this stamp set "Just Believe". Kim had a number of projects planned using this stamp set and this was one of them. I thought that this card was so appropriate since we stamped "friends" on it. It was a wonderful weekend stamping and spending time with friends. The supplies that we used for this card were:

STAMP SET: Just Believe
PAPER: Whisper White, Garden Green, Chocolate Chip
INK: Crumb Cake, Garden Green, Chocolate Chip
ACCESSORIES: Scallop Circle Punch, 1-3/8" Circle Punch, 1-1/4" Circle Punch

Some of us had never met before that weekend, but if we were not friends before, we were after the weekend. I had a technique class this morning and now I plan to work on my Regional Swaps. It seems that I am always so busy lately. So hopefully you can slow down and enjoy the day today!

September Technique Class- Card 3

This is the third card that we will be working on during my Technique Classes this month. This is a "Ruffled Scalloped Edge". What a cute way to accent a sentiment. This card would be cute for a child but even an adult would smile when they would receive it. The stamp set used for this card is titled "FANG-TASTIC" and can be found in the Holiday Mini. It is so cute, cute, cute! If you are interested in attending any of these Technique classes, please contact me.

I have had a very busy two weeks. So I have decided that I am taking the day off and relaxing. So I hope you enjoy the day also!

September Technique Class- Card 2

This is the second card that we will be making. This is an example of the TENT CARD we will be making. I CASED this from Inked Treasures Blog. Of course I put my own spin on it. I changed the colors and made it into a Tent Card. You need to see this card in person, it is so neat. I am still in the process of tweaking it. I changed the dimensions. I wanted it larger than what she had created and now it won't fit into the envelope. It is 1/8" too big. Just enough that it will not slide easily into the envelope. So now I have to go back and trim all the paper I already had cut.

Although Halloween really is not my favorite holiday, I have been having fun making these cards. I will be posting the third card tomorrow. You still have time to let sign up for the class. Check my Sept. 5 post for specific dates and times. Contact me if you plan to attend.

I have a lot to do today. I need to clean out my daughter's room to make room for the baby when they come to visit. I have a lot of my stamping stuff stored in there. I plan to organize my things. I know that I will only scratch the surface today, but you have to start somewhere. You go out and enjoy the day!

Turtle Invites

If you have been following my blog, you should know by now that I have been working on a lot of shower invitations. Well finally, I am showing you how my invitations came out. You might be wondering what kind of invitations they are since the turtles don't give it away. These are the invitations to my youngest daughter's Baby Shower!! Yes, I am going to be a grandmother for the first time! I am so excited. If you can't tell by looking at the invites, the baby is a boy! My husband is so excited since we have two girls and he always wanted a boy. My daughter loves turtles for some reason and even had one as a pet for 8 years. So my oldest daughter decided to plan a baby shower with a turtle theme. My job was to design and make the invites. So after many, many hours of cutting and gluing, here it is. The supplies that I used for this card were:

STAMP SETS: Fox & Friends, Family Phrases
PAPER: Whisper White, Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, Bashful Blue DSP
INK: Marina Mist, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery
ACCESSORIES: Scallop Edge Punch, Large Oval Punch, White 5/8" Satin Ribbon, Blue Gingham Ribbon

Stampin' Up no longer carries the Bashful Blue Gingham Ribbon but I felt it perked up the white ribbon. It just needed a little punch and I thought that ribbon was perfect. I did run out of that ribbon and I accented the last two invites with Certainly Celery Grosgrain Ribbon. I likes the Family Phrases sentiments because of the childlike fell to the font. It seemed to fit this whimsical invitation. The baby is due close to Christmas but I wanted to get the invitations done now so that I did not have to worry about getting them done at the last minute. I hope you like them and I hope she does too.

Check back tomorrow when I post Technique Class Card 2. Today I will be working on some swaps for Regionals. Two of my friends will be coming over to stamp with me this afternoon. I don't get to see them that much since they went back to work 2 weeks ago and I am retired. So today should be a fun day. Go out and enjoy your day!

September Technique Class- Card 1

I have not been able to post the last few days due to technical difficulties. First, I lost my memory card. And then after I found my memory card, the batteries in my camera died and could not be revived. So I ended up having to go out and buy new rechargeable batteries. So after a few days, here I am, back in business!

This is the first card that we will be making at my Technique Classes this month. The technique is Wavy Ribbon. It is a very cute way to pep up your cards. This month's technique class's theme is "HALLOWEEN". I am not a big fan of Halloween but this year with all the new stamp sets and products, I was really excited to come up with new ideas. I love the Rich Razzleberry color on this card. I also used Cajun Craze. I was surprised how good they look together for a spooky and creepy feeling. It is hard to see but I used Orange Fine Glitter to accent the band on the witch's hat. It really set the card off. And the new Glittery Brads in the Holiday Mini are used on this card.

My Technique Classes this month will be held on:
Saturday September 11 @ 9 AM
Tuesday September 21 @ 9:15 AM
Wednesday September 22 @ 7 PM

The cost is $10 for the 3 cards/envelopes and 3 technique instruction cards. If you are interested please contact me.

Tomorrow I will post the second card from the Technique Classes. Until the, enjoy the day!!
