I have so many good friends that have birthdays in January and February. So lately I have been making a lot of Birthday Cards. I am very lucky to have one group of friends that I am extremely close with. We all began to teach together around the same time. We all had our children around the same time. And now it seems that we are all having our grandchildren around the same time. We just get along very well and try to get together to do various things together. We like to celebrate all that is going on in our lives especially our birthdays. So one of the "gang" had a birthday this month and this is the gift card holder that I made and gave to her.
This is one of the Envelope Punch Board Gift Card Holders that I posted the other day. This one uses "Another Great Year" stamp set. I used the "Chalkboard Technique" on this card because the gift card that is inside the card looks like it used that technique on the card. Here is a peek inside the card.
Here is a peek inside the card. I used the sentiment from the same stamp set on the card. The candles are also from the same set. If you look closely you can see a bit of the gift card and that is what my inspiration for this card was. The supplies for this card were:
STAMP SET: Another Great Year
PAPER: Whisper White, Basic Black, Coastal Cabana
INK: Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight, Pink Pirouette, Pistachio Pudding, Whisper White
ACCESSORIES: White Embossing Powder, Heating Tool, Chalk Marker, Melon Mambo Marker, Organza Ribbon, 1/8" Black Taffeta Ribbon, Sticky Strip, Glue Dots, Sponge Dauber
If you were wondering how I got the Melon Mambo color on the Basic Black card stock, I colored the letters in with the Chalk Marker. When dry, I colored over the Chalk Marker with the Melon Mambo Marker so you would be able to see the pink. It needed a little bit of color to make this card pop. Here is a close up of the lettering. I just felt it needed a little bit of color.
I loved how it turned out. I hope that she likes this card/gift card holder. We have not gotten together yet even though her birthday was last week. We try to get together close to our birthday day. But due to craziness in all of our lives the past couple of weeks we have been unable to get together. But it will happen soon and we will have a great time as always! Enjoy the day!

With Heartfelt Sympathy
It has been a rough 3 months around here. There have been a number of friends and relatives that have either been sick or passed. Tonight we have another viewing to attend and that is the mother of one our close friends.
I needed a sympathy card to send to our friends and decided to send this one. This card was one of my Open House Make & Take cards. I had a few prepared packets left over and decided to finish them and place a sympathy sentiment on the front of the card. It is a very simple and dignified card.
The supplies that I used for this card were:
STAMP SET: Petite Petals
PAPER: Whisper White, Pistachio Pudding
INK: Basic Black, Coastal Cabana, Strawberry Slush, Crisp Cantaloupe
ACCESSORIES: Petite Petals Punch, Dimensionals
I am glad that I decided to take my left overs and finish them. This way I was able to have cards with a variety of sentiments on hand. It always helps to have cards with different sentiments on hand because you never know when you will need one.
I have 2 grandsons to watch today along with my grand dog and it is snowing again! This will probably turn out to be another busy day. Enjoy the day!

February Technique Class Card #3
Well this is the last in February's Technique Cards. This is my take on the Envelope Punch Gift Card Holder. It is so simple to do and a great way to dress up the way you give it. This one is definitely a gift card holder for a girly girl! The color combination of Pistachio Pudding, Strawberry Slush, and Coastal Cabana is very soft and feline looking. I also used the Pistachio Ruffled Ribbon and Watercolor Wonder Designer Washi Tape to help adhere the bottom fold together.
This is what the gift card holder looks like open. The notches at the top of the card stock were made by using the Envelope Punch Board. It is so slick how it fits into the bottom for closing. Also from the side view, you can see how the enclosure slides up for easy access to the gift card when you open the card.
The supplies that I used for this gift card holder were:
STAMP SET: Chalk Talk
PAPER: Whisper White, Coastal Cabana, Pistachio Pudding, Strawberry Slush, Strawberry Slush DSP
INK: Strawberry Slush, Pistachio Pudding
ACCESSORIES: Envelope Punch Board, Pistachio Pudding Ruffled Ribbon, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Watercolor Wonder Washi Tape, Sticky Strip, Dimensionals, Rhinestone Jewels, Pink Sharpie (non SU)
I have a family wedding coming up and I can't wait to use this technique to make a gift card holder for the gift card I will be giving them. I am so excited. All these ideas running through my head.
I will be doing this class again for my Tuesday and Saturday Classes next month. I had to cancel those classes this month because of the snow storms that we had this month. If you live in the area and would like to attend, let me know. Enjoy the day!

February Technique Class Card #2
I really like this card! This is called a "WIPER CARD" and this is the front of the card. It gets its name because it moves like a windshield Wiper. You will see in the next picture how. I tried a number of different color combinations and finally decided on this one. I used Melon Mambo, Strawberry Slush, and Coastal Cabana. I think it worked nicely for this card. I used the SKETCHED BIRTHDAY stamp set for this card. I never used this set before and now that I have used it, I do not understand why I did not use it before. I will be using this stamp set more now that I have started.
This is what happens when you pull the ends apart. You get to see a hidden message. In this case, the message is Happy Birthday. I plan to send this to my close friend whose birthday is next week.
The supplies that I used on this card were:
STAMP SET: Sketched Birthday
PAPER: Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay, Whisper White, Strawberry Slush DSP
INK: Coastal Cabana, Melon Mambo, Pink Pirouette, Daffodil Delight, Black Staz0n
ACCESSORIES: Doilies, Banner Framelits, Perfect Polka Dots, Sponges, Blender Pens, Dimensionals, Gold Baker's Twine
I sponged the edges of the Doily with Bermuda Bay so it blended with the other colors. Everyone was very excited about their finished card. They loved the way it moved. And the best thing about this card is that it fits into an A2 envelope. So it can be sent through the mail.
Well, today is a three kid day and it is bound to be another busy and crazy time. I have a lot of extra things to do today also. So I am off and running and you Enjoy the day!

February Technique Class Card #1
It is has been a rough month here with all the snow we have been having. I had to cancel 2 classes this month. I was finally able to hold a class last night. This month's theme for class was "POP UP CARDS". Sometimes these are hard to do at a class because a lot of Pop Up Cards have so many steps and can be difficult to do with a large group. But the cards that I picked for this month I thought were fairly easy to do. To help things go a little faster this month, I did score the card stock ahead of time. The first one that I will post is called a"STANDING POP UP Card". Here is what it looks like completely finished.
I decided to use the PERFECT BLEND stamp set for this card. Since I do not drink coffee, this set did not catch my eye to begin with, but since have become a fan. Just thought this would be a nice fit for this card. And of course the GLORIOUS GRUNGE stamp set made its appearance on this card. All those coffee splotches are made using that stamp set.
This is what the card looks like when it is closed. It folds up small enough that it can fit inside of an envelope. If you place the images low enough, when they open the card they get a nice surprise.
The supplies that I used for this card were:
STAMP SETS: Perfect Blend. Glorious Grunge, Sweet Essentials
PAPER: Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Early Espresso
INK: Crumb Cake, Brown Baked Sugar
ACCESSORIES: Early Espresso Baker's Twine, Modern Label Punch, Sponges, Sticky Strip
Because I needed to cancel 2 classes, I will be offering this class again next month. I usually do not do that but I liked these cards so much, that I want to give all my customers a chance to make them. Today is a no kid day so I am off and running and doing all those small things that I need to get done. This afternoon, one of my closest friend is going to come over and we are going to do some stamping. So I am excited to get this day going. Enjoy your day!

February Thank You
Every month I make a thank you card for my customers who made a purchase. It is always a quick and simple card usually showcasing new SU products. This card uses my favorite colors from the 2013-15 In Colors, Pistachio Pudding and Crisp Cantaloupe. I used my favorite stamp set from the Occasions Catalog, "Happy Watercolor ".
The supplies that I used for this were:
STAMP SET: Happy Watercolor
PAPER: Daffodil Delight, Crisp Cantaloupe, Whisper White
INK: Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding, Black Stazon
ACCESSORIES: None
I know this card is not spectacular but it is cute and easy to do especially if you need a lot thank you notes. The splotches of color under the black outline flower is actually a stamp! I love the effect of a brush stroke it gives to the card. I think that one piece is my favorite piece of the whole set. What a great way to add a bit of pizazz to a card!
I am back to babysitting after we have been hit with a lot of snow in the North East. I could not get out for 2 days until a friend came and plowed my drive way. Enjoy the day!

A Valentine for the Teacher
I finished Eli's and Emmett's valentines for their respective classes. So then I had to come up with cards for their teachers. These cards were my favorites of all that I had done this month. So I decided if I loved them, then they should love them too.
As I was checking out various blogs and checking out what wonderful projects other demos have come up with. And I found this gorgeous card done by Sandi McGiver and went crazy. I just think the gold and white is so stunning. So of course I had to CASE it and here it is just like hers. But then I wondered what would it look like if I swapped out some of the gold for red.
So this is my version using Real Red, Red Glimmer Paper, and Cherry Cobbler Embossing Powder. IT gives it a different look but I like it. So this is the card that I decided to go with for both of their teachers. These are the supplies that I used for my card for the teachers were:
STAMP SET: Best of 25 Years…Love, and Flowerful Heart , Glorious Grundge
PAPER: Whisper White, Red Glimmer Paper
INK: Real Red, Versa mark
ACCESSORIES: Watercolor Wonder Designer Washi Tape, Small Heart Punch, Adorning Accents Embossing Folder, Heart Embosslits, Big Shot, Gold Embossing Powder, Cherry Cobbler Embossing Powder, Heating Tool, Dimensionals
It is amazing how just a change of color can totally change the feel of the card. Next time try making one card and then make it again using a whole different color scheme. You will be surprised how much color can change your card.
I enjoy making gifts and cards for the boys teachers and classmates. I hope they enjoy it also. Enjoy the day!

A Valentine for Eli
Eli needs Valentine Cards for his daycare class. So Grandma volunteered to make his valentines Of course! I love to stamp and I love my grandson, so what could be better than stamping for your grandson. Right now he is into trucks. Chuck the truck, monster trucks, Mater the truck and on and on. His birthday invites were made using the retired stamp set, "I Dig You". So I decided to keep going with that theme and do an "I Dig You" valentine. Remember these are for 3 year olds and they want it to be one piece and no envelopes. So this is the simple card I came up with.
He loved it! He said Grandma is that for me? It has my favorite color red and my I love hearts! So how could I go wrong with this? For this card I used:
STAMP SETS: Teeny Tiny Wishes, I Dig You (retired)
PAPER: Whisper WHite, Real Red, Red Glimmer Paper
INK: Real Red
ACCESSORIES: Small Heart Punch, Heart Framelits, Daffodil Delight, Smokey Slate, and Basic Black Markers
I know it is not a spectacular card, but my grandson thinks it is perfect. And that is all that matters to me! Enjoy the day!

A Monster I Love You
I forgot to post this little gem after our Downline
Take that Susan presented to our downlines. I thought it was adorable and was a great way to show a different way to use the Sweetheart Treat Bags.
I always like it when I can use a product for a number of different reasons and ways. I like to use the old saying, "Getting more bang for your buck". I think customers will buy a product sooner if they know you can use it in a number of different ways.
The supplies that we used for this project were:
STAMP SETS: None
PAPER: Whisper White, Soft Sky, Real Red, Silver Glimmer Paper, Midnight Musem Calyso Coral
INK: None
ACCESSORIES: Sweetheart Treat Bag, Monster Hugs Girls, Heart (from the Circle Card Thinlets),7/8" Scallop Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, 1/2" Circle Punch, Heart Framelits, Arrows Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Dimensionals
I did not show this sooner because by the time I remembered that I did not post it, the promotion for this product was ending. But GOOD NEWS… this product and some of the other products from the A Whole Lot of Love promotion that was to end on January 27th are still for sale until they run out of the product or until February 14th.
Today I will be working on Valentine Cards for Eli's Class. When I finish, I will share with you. Enjoy the day!
