Susan's Leadership Gift To Us

This was the gift that Susan gave each of us when we got together in Nashville for Leadership. It is a journal that she made for each of us with "MY DIGITAL STUDIO". With the latest update, you can now create your own journals! They are great for you to create and give as a gift. All you need to do is design your own cover from a blank page OR you can use one of the pre-designed covers and the rest is done for you. They add all the lined pages to complete a great gift for anyone.

This journal was especially designed for us to document our time in Nashville. I took pictures of the front and back. I love how Susan put all of our names on the back and put the name and date of the event on the front cover. What a wonderful project that can be done with MDS! MDS is not only used to create cards and scrapbook pages but can be used for other projects. How great is that! Today is going to be a great day. Lori is driving up here to visit for the weekend with the baby. Go out and enjoy your day! I know I will be enjoying it, holding my grandson!

Valentine Stamp Camp-Gift Card Holder

I am still thinking about our Valentine Stamp Camp which Susan and I are hosting on Saturday. This is the Gift Card Holder which we will be making. It uses that great Red Glimmer Paper which is in the Occasions Mini. I love the little girl on the front of the card. She is from the stamp set "Greeting Card Kids" I like that stamp set because it is a stamp set that can be used for ALL seasons and the kids in the set are so cute!

It is snowing here today! And snowing and snowing! I love snow! So I am a happy camper today. I will be in the kitchen all day today cooking. For some reason when it snows, I get the urge to make soups and I usually bake cakes. I don't know why, but that is what I do. So I am off now to cook up a couple batches of different soups. So whatever the weather is like where you are today, enjoy your day!

Valentine Stamp Camp-Letterpress Card

This is one of the cards that we will be making at the Valentine Stamp Camp. I wanted to demonstrate to everyone one of the great new products that Stampin' Up introduced in the Holiday Mini and is a carryover in the Occasions Mini. The Letterpress is a product that instead of Embossing the paper, "Debosses" the paper. It is a really cool product. There are a few tricks to using this product and my customers will learn and get the opportunity to use this product. This card is extremely simple but we wanted the customers to try the Letterpress, see how it works and not worry so much about working on a complicated card.

If you are interested in attending our Stamp Camp, please contact me. Today is the last day to sign up for the class. A reminder that the cost is $15 or FREE if you purchase $25 worth of product. It is -1 at my house this morning, so I hope that it is warmer where you are. Enjoy your day!

Valentine Stamp Camp-Pizza Box

While checking other stamping blogs, I saw that some people were stamping on Tea Light candles. I thought that it was just such a cute idea and decided to do it for Valentine's Day. I needed a container to put the candles in so that it would be a cute gift to give someone. I saw some boxes but I thought a Pizza Box would be a cute way to present the candles. So here is my version of a gift box and candles. If you would like to make this project plus 4 other projects, contact me because there is still room in our Valentine Stamp Camp on the 29th of this month. Go out and enjoy the day!

January Technique Classes

With everything going on with Leadership and my father, I know I have gotten a little bit behind in my blog posting. But here are two of the three cards that we will be working on in my technique classes this month. I did not post the third card yet because I decided to change it when I went to take the picture of it. The theme for January is "WINTER" which includes Valentine cards along with a wintery card. The techniques we are doing are Ruffled Ribbon, Rhinestone Brad Bow and Inlaid Embossing. There is still room for Saturday, so if you are interested please contact me.

Nashville Make & Takes, Prizes, and Friends

I got home 2 hours ago and I had to unwind a bit. It has been a whirlwind of information, change, classes, friendship, swaps and just plain fun! Here I am with my upline Kim and my sideline sisters Buffy and Susan. We are inside the hotel but we are in the Delta part of the hotel which looks like a southern town. It looks as though we are outside but we are not.

The next 2 pictures are pictures of only two of the Make & Takes that we worked on last night until 10:30 at night! The pin is made using our new Springtime Vintage fabric which is in the new Occasion Mini. The next photo is a card using "Clearly for You" stamp set also from the Occasion Mini. The projects that we made at Leadership were gorgeous this year. Not that they were not nice last year but I think Stampin' Up outdid themselves this year. I will post more later this week. The next two pictures are a look at some of the prizes we received there. We were surprised at the end of Leadership with the bundle containing a stamp set, fabric, buttons and a digital download from the Sale- A Bration Campaign. What a wonderful surprise from Shelli. Earlier in the day we received the Glimmer Paper, Glimmer Brads, and Glass Glitter bundle. The surprises yesterday never seemed to end! What a great day!

The last picture was taken after Leadership ended. We took this picture at the front of the stage. The theme this year was +one. More on that in the next couple of months. We had such a great time and I was sad to leave but I am also glad to be home with my family. Take care and enjoy the rest of your day today!

Another Great Dessert!

We just got back in our rooms from our Make & Take Session. It is after 11 PM and we are exhausted! We started the day with a General Session at 9 AM. What a long day! But I could not go to bed before I showed you our dessert for lunch. Isn't it spectacular looking? It tasted even better! Wow! Stampin' Up sure knows how to throw a Leadership Event. Please don't think it was all food. We were presented with wonderful sessions and fantastic Make & Takes. I will share more with you tomorrow. I need to go to bed now and try to absorb all the great ideas that were presented. Tomorrow I will post more after I get home. I hope you enjoyed your day as much as we did here!

What a Day in Nashville!

What a day in Nashville today! There were some high spots and some low spots. It started off great! We picked up our Leadership bag. Isn't it beautiful? I love it! The pattern comes from our Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder and the color of the bag is Early espresso and White. How gorgeous! In the bag there was a pin colored in various SU colors. The one I received was Crumb Cake. The pin was for the Prize Patrol PRizes. Well, my pin came off of my badge and I could not find it. So when we went to General Session, Carrie Cudney from SU gave me a replacement pin but did not have Crumb Cake and I was given Concord Crush this time. Shelly did a fantastic presentation sowing us a variety of cards that she was making for a workshop and at the end of the session she told us the first prize on the Prize Patrol was the stamp set Easter Blossoms, Springtime Vintage DSP and a card that Shelly herself made using this set. The color pin that was chosen to get the prize was...Crumb Cake : ( I was so sad I could not claim that prize, especially when I could have gotten a handmade card from Shelly but what could I do.

The sessions were great and then when they were over for the day, SU provided us with a wonderful me. Check it out! Doesn't it look good? And the cheesecake was delicious! After dinner, they asked everyone to make a card for the Ronald McDonald Houses. So when we started to make them, they announced that they would call people to go to Momento Mall. So the first color pin they chose to line up to get into Momento Mall was...Concord Crush! Yippee! So I was in the first group to go in. I will post what I bought there, tomorrow.

It has been a long day and tomorrow will be even longer. Check back tomorrow for more news.

Enjoy your day!

We're Here!!!

We finally got here! We left our home at 3 this morning and drove to Philly airport in the snow. We got there with time to spare, had breakfast, and waited for our plane. It was on time believe it our not! So we took off at 8 this morning. We are staying at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel. It is a gorgeous place! Everything you could ever want is right here! There are shops, restaurants, and conference space all in one place. I thought I would post a couple of pictures for you to enjoy. Although it looks warm and sunny here by the pictures, realize that there is snow here and it is cold. All the gardens you see here is in the hotel in a controlled environment. It is fantastic! Tonight is the Manager's Reception which Kim will be attending and tomorrow starts a whirlwind of conference activity. Will get back to you when there is some news. Enjoy the rest of the day.

MDS Birth Announcement

Getting ready for Nashville, but with the weather report I am not sure what will happen the next few days. But in the meantime, I thought I would show you the Birth announcement I designed for my first grandson. The colors and stars match his bedding. My daughter and her husband liked what I came up with. And it was so easy using My Digital Studio to make it. I hope every likes it once it is sent out. I thought for the first time making a birth announcement, it did not look bad.

They are calling for snow tomorrow night here into Wednesday, so we are not sure how it will effect our flight. So hopefully we will be able to get to Nashville. Although I usually enjoy the snow, this time I am hoping the storm fizzles out. If we are able to get there for Leadership, I will keep you updated with our trip. Enjoy your day!

Nashville Swaps-Part 2

This is the other card which I plan to swap at Nashville. I changed this design a few times until I finally decided on this one. I originally wanted the top piece have a lot of candles instead of the dots but when I used the candles, it seemed to overtake the card. So I decied to use the dots in a variety of bright colors. I think using the bright colors made the card feel more festive. This card has numerous textures in it which are created by using various Embossing Folders, crimper, and the designs on the DSP. I personally think it is a fun card. The supplies used for this card were:

STAMP SET: Create A Cupcake, Bring On The Cake
PAPER: Pink Pirouette, Melon Mambo, Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango, Pretty in Pink, Crumb Cake, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White
INK: Pacific Point
ACCESSORIES: Crimper, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Build A Cupcake Punch, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Small Heart Punch, Big Bold Cupcake Sizzlet Set, Dazzling Diamonds, Spray Adhesive ( non SU ), Red Glimmer Paper, Dimensionals

The items in RED are available in the Occasions Mini.

The card ended up taking longer to make than I had originally thought. As I was working on the card, I kept changing things which added to the time it would take to make it. I realize that it is taking more time to make but I think it looks better than the first sample. Today I plan to finish these swaps. I am half way done and I really need to have them finished today. I can't wait to get to Nashville and see what other people have been working on. Enjoy your day!

Nashville Swaps

I will be in Nashville next week for Leadership Conference. I am so excited about going. I was unable to go last year to Phoenix and I am so happy that I am able to go this year. Susan, Buffy and I will be meeting up with Kim in Nashville. There will be meetings, stamping, and meeting up with friends. It is sure to be a good time. Oh yes, there will be swapping too. This is the sample of one of the swaps that I will be swapping in Nashville. I am almost finished with them. Hopefully this afternoon they will be done. Then I have to put together all the pieces for the second card that I made.

This card was made by using a new stamp set which is in the new Occasions Mini. The name of this set is "NATURE WALK". I really am excited by this new set. It was the first item on my list. The supplies used for this card were:

STAMP SETS: En Francois, Nature Walk
PAPER: Confetti White, Pear Pizazz, Concord Crush
INK: Concord Crush, Pear Pizazz, Black Staz-On, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Poppy Parade
ACCESSORIES: Blender Pens, Framed Tulips Embossing Folder, Pearl Jewels, 1-3/4" Circle Punch, Dimensionals, Sponge Dauber, 3/8" Very Vanilla Taffeta

The items in RED are items that you can find in the new Occasions Mini.

I hope that you like this card and that the Demos in Nashville like it also. It is snowing here today, so I will spend the rest of this lazy day finishing my swaps. Go out and enjoy your day! I hope the weather is better there than it is here.

Warm My Heart

I finally got a chance to make cards yesterday and this is one that I tried. I CASED this from Julie Davison. I used her layout but changed a few things. I added the ruffled ribbon, pearls and the punch heart from the new Glitter Paper which is available in the new Occasions Mini. The red Glitter Paper is so neat! I love it because you get that neat glitzy, glitter effect without the mess of gluing glitter onto your paper. It is no fuss and no mess way of adding a little glitz to your project.

I am off to make more cards. I need to come up with a design for my Nashville Leadership swaps. So hopefully I can get started on my swaps today. So go out and enjoy your day!

A New Year and a New Baby

Happy belated New Year! When I posted last time, I thought I would have a chance to work on some projects but that did not work out like I had planned. My daughter, her husband, baby and his parents came up for the weekend. So it was a very busy couple of days. So no new projects were worked on . But I did manage to do a few pages of my new grandson on My Digital Studio. I decided that I would do a first year scrapbook for him. I used the selection of using predesigned pages for your scrapbook. Although this was a predesigned, I changed the color of the pages, added some embellishments and deleted others. It was very easy and simple to use. A whole book could be done in a day. I have decided that I will make a page for each month and also for special events. These pictures were taken when he was 3 days old and leaving the hospital. As the page says, he is a "little cutie"!
