A Wicked Halloween

This is a candy holder that holds a Hershey bar. I cased this from Mary Fish's blog. This is a great way to present a candy gift to someone. It makes it a little more special to give a candy bar to a friend, teacher, day care worker, ect. The supplies used to make this embossing folder were:

STAMP SET: Wicked Cool
PAPER: Kraft, Basic Black, Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White
INK: Basic Black
ACCESSORIES: 2-1/2" Circle Punch, 1-1/4" Circle Punch, Owl Builder Punch, 1/2" Scallop Dot Ribbon, Spider Web Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Platinum Shimmer Paint, Sponge Dauber, Dimensionals, Sticky Strip

I changed the background to Basic Black cardstock that I ran through the Spider Web Embossing Folder. I then took shimmer paint and rubbed over the embossed lines so that the web showed up better. When my friends saw this, they thought it was so cute. I hope you like it too. Enjoy the day!

You're Invited!

I have been asked to make wedding invitations, save the date cards, shower invitations, thank you cards and favors for the shower. The wedding is supposed to be elegant and simple. The colors are limited to black and ivory and I think that will make for a very elegant wedding. This is a sample that I made for the shower. I will post other pieces of this collection after the dates have come and gone. The supplies that I used for this card were:

STAMPS:Wedding Sweet
PAPER: Very Vanilla, Basic Black
INK: Versamark
ACCESSORIES: Black Embossing Powder, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, Designer Frames Embossing Folder, Heating Tool, Big Shot, 5/8" Black Satin Ribbon, Wide Oval Punch, Pearls

At first I thought not having any colors to work with would be difficult especially since I love color. But once I got started on these cards, I really liked the simplicity and elegance that they had. I hope they like what samples I come up with. I am hoping to get the samples done this weekend. Wish me luck! This week has been very busy with running my father to various Dr.'s. Today, we have to take him to the hospital for an outpatient procedure. Not all weeks are like this but this past week has been a rough one. Today is another rainy day here. I hope it does not rain hard or for a long time because the water finally stopped coming into the basement. And it is just getting more frustrating and depressing the more times we have to do take care of the water coming in. Enjoy your day! Hopefully the weather is great where you are.

Greeting Card Kid in Baja

I have been working on cards for our next Holiday Stamp A Stack. This is one of my favorites. I love the simplicity of it. It just feels so serene to me because the colors that were used are very subdued. I used Baja Breeze and Whisper White for this card. The colors convey the feeling of Winter which is a good thing since I have a snowflake in the corner of this card. The supplies that I used for this card were:

STAMP SETS: Greeting Card Kids, Teeny Tiny Wishes
PAPER: Whisper White, Baja Breeze
INK: Baja Breeze, Garden Green, Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Soft Suede
ACCESSORIES: Rhinestone Jewels, Large Oval Punch, Modern Label Punch, Baja Breeze Seam Binding, Dazzling Details, Dimensionals, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Northern Frost Decorative Strip

I have been waiting to use this set for a card and I thought it would be perfect to use in this card. After I post this, I am back to working on the flyer for the next event. I have to work on these things when my grandson is around. He is very active and on the days that I watch him, all I can do is watch him. Since he learned to crawl, he is all over the place. So I am learning how to schedule my stamping around him. It will take me time to figure this stuff out. So please be patient with me until I can work out a routine. Enjoy the rest of your day!

September Technique Class- Card 3

This is the third card that we will be making this month at my technique classes. I will be showing you the "Bleach, Spatter, Sponge" Technique. It is so easy to do and what a way to add more interest to your card. I also used the stamp set "French Foliage". I love that stamp set. It has to be one of my favorites. It is a great set to use when you are creating a more collage type look on your cards or projects.

If you are interested in attending this technique class, please contact me.

Enjoy the day!

Please contact me if you would like to attend any of the last 2 technique classes this month.

Enjoy the day!

September Technique Class- Card 1

Well I was able to get down to the basement where most of my stamps and supplies are yesterday. It is still raining and the water is still coming in the basement. I can hear my husband trying to shop vac some of the water. But I just had to get these cards finished and posted. This is one of the cards that we will be making at my technique classes this month. This technique is called "EMBOSSED RIBBON" and if you look closely at the close up you will be able to see it better. It gives the ribbon more texture and depth. It looks better in person but I think most cards look better in person than the pictures that I take.

If you wish to attend one of my classes, these are the dates:
Sept. 10-Saturday @ 9-11:30 am
Sept. 20- Tuesday @ 9:15- 11:45 am
Sept.21- Wednesday @ 7-9:30 pm

There is still space available on some dates. Please contact me if you are interested.

Enjoy your day!

A New Baby in the Family

After one crazy week, Something wonderful and joyous happened. A new baby was born into the neighborhood and the family! My cousin's daughter lives across the street from s and she gave birth to a baby girl yesterday morning. So I had to make her a card. I saw this card on Jackie Topa's blog and CASED it. I did change some things around but the layout is basically the same. When I saw this on her blog, I thought it was a great way to use the "Stitched Stockings" stamp set. Instead of using the stockings as Christmas stockings, she turned them into baby booties. How adorable! The supplies that I used for this card were:

STAMP SET: Stitched Stockings
PAPER: Whisper White, Pink Pirouette
INK: Pretty in Pink
ACCESSORIES: Stocking Builder Punch, Eyelet Border Punch, Pearls, White Taffeta Ribbon, Fire Rhinestones, Bakers Twine, Dimensionals

The baby was a bright spot in the past week. We did not have power for almost a week, no telephone or internet, the basement flooded, Eli and company were living with us until their electric came back on, we started baby sitting for Eli because Mom went back to work, and Lori got rear-ended going to her first day of work! What a week but then we had my other daughter get engaged on Saturday and now this baby girl. So things are getting better again!

I hope you understand why I was unable to post. But I should be back on track now. Enjoy the day!
