May Technique Class Card 3

This is the last card that we are making at Technique Class this month. This card uses Sticky Pages and the Big Shot to create the flower on this card. Sticky Pages and Sizzix dies are wonderful to create personal sticky shapes or letters of the alphabet. You can use them to personalize your card or scrapbook page. After cutting out this flower shape, we used the fine glitter to spice it up even more! I decided to use Summer Sun card stock ( one of the retiring colors ) and the matching Corduroy Buttons on this card. I know it is hard to see but I ran the large white card stock piece through the Big Shot with a Texture Plate to give it texture. It looks so much nicer close up and in person.

This is another short entry due to moving everyone this week. I also had to take my computer in to get fixed with everything else going on. Hopefully after this week and everyone is moved, things will calm down. Wish me luck and enjoy your day!

Four Tiles and a Ribbon

Susan and I planned a Stamp Camp for May. This is the second project we are offering for the event. This tile/coaster is stamped with the stamp set "Elements of Style" from the upcoming SUMMER MINI. You will make four of these beautiful floral tiles and wrap them up with a decorative ribbon which will make a fantastic gift for someone you care about. Contact me if you are interested in this event on May 15th @ 9 AM.

I did not post earlier because this morning my group "Love at First Stamp" met at Applebee's for breakfast which benefited RELAY FOR LIFE. It was one of the fundraisers that they sponsored this month. What a great cause!

Everyone enjoy the rest of your day!

April Technique Class-Card 2

This is the second card for my technique classes this month. My friend Buffy demonstrated this technique at one of our Downline Meetings. I thought it was so cute! Some of my customers saw it and asked me to show them how to do it. Since this month's theme is Sticky Stuff, this fit right in because it uses Sticky Strip. I also used Orchid Opulence cardstock. Orchid Opulence is another one of the colors that will be retiring at the end of June. Although Stampin' Up is retiring all these colors, great new colors and old favorites will be replacing them. The new color line-up is exciting.

Well I am off to my Dad's again to clean and go through things. Have a great day!

Votive Candle Holder

Who would have thought that Stampin' Up products could be used to make this adorable votive holder. This is one of the items that we will be making at the MAY STAMP CAMP. Susan and I are planning wonderful 3-Dimensional items for our May stamp camp. This is a sneak peak for what is coming up next month. We will be sending out more info on this event next week.

I will be posting tomorrow another card that we will be making in my technique classes but due to technical difficulties was unable to upload it today.

Sorry for the short post but I am off to my Dad's to continue working on his move to our house. I hope the rest of you are able to go out and enjoy your day!

April Technique Class-Card 1

Sorry I have not posted lately but I have been so busy with trying to get my father moved in with us. Going through the house is taking so much longer than what I thought it would. I am hoping that after he moves in with us, I will have a little more time to work on my projects.

I started early this morning working on the final cards that we will be making this month. I just love this set "FRIENDS 24-7". And when I heard that Bordering Blue will be retired at the end of June, I knew that I had to use it on my card this month. The technique that I used for this card was Glittery Glue Dots. I think that it adds pizazz to the card. It is hard to see how nice it looks on the card but I assure you that it perks it up. The small round circles are embellished with Chocolate Glitter. What a easy way to embellish your card. The color combination for this card is Bordering Blue, Night of Navy and Kraft with a pop of Cameo Coral. Since so much is going on in this card so I left the background of the card more plain.
The classes for this month are on Saturday April 17 @ 9-11:30 AM, Tuesday April 20@ 9:15-11:45 AM, and Wednesday 21@ 7-9:30 PM. If you are interested, please contact me. Go out and enjoy your day!

Faux Flower

Another very simple card with a faux accent. This time I made a faux straw flower. It is very simple to do, all you need are circle punches and scissors to snip the edges. When I went to design this card for a technique class, I was very low on my cardstock supply. I finally decided on the color Old Olive because I knew I would have enough for the card base. I then went to Stampin' Up's Demonstrator website and found a color combination chart. That is where I got this color combination. I would never have put these colors together on my own, but I really like the combo. After doing this, I decided I need to stretch myself using different color combinations. It is so easy to stuck in a rut. The supplies that I used for this card were:

STAMP SET: Sincere Salutations
CARDSTOCK: Old Olive, Elegant Eggplant, Bermuda Breeze, Melon Mambo, Whisper White
INK: Old Olive
ACCESSORIES: 1-3/4" Circle Punch, 1-1/4" Circle Punch, 1" Circle Punch, Bermuda Bay Polka Dotted Ribbon, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Pretties Kit (1/2 pearl), Paper Snips, Perfect Polka Dotted Impressions Folder

This was the third card that we made at my Technique classes in March. This card barely had any stamping, only the sentiment. Hope you enjoyed the card and go out and enjoy the day!
