Easter Card Buffet- Card 3

I love the Easter stamp set that is in the big catalog, "EVERYBUNNY".  It was new last year and I was so glad when they had it in the catalog again this year.  The bunnies are so cute.  The images are perfect for a small kids card and for those who are kids at heart.

This is such a quick and easy card.  I used Almost Amethyst, Pretty in Pink,  and Daffodil Delight because those colors seem so Springy and Eastery to me.  If you look closely, you can see flowers being thrown out of the hot air balloon.  I tried to keep with those flowers when I placed 3 flowers in opposite corners of the card.   For the background I used the Chevron Embossing Folder which ties back to the zig zag on the hot air balloon.  Even though it is simple, it would make a great card for anyone.

If you are interested in attending my card buffet, contact me.  I will give you more specifics on date and time on Monday.  I need to work a few things out first.

Well although is supposed to be a no grandchildren and a relaxation day for Grandma, but it turned into a 2 grandson day.  Last minute meetings for their mom.  Hopefully during nap time, I can get a few things done. Hopefully the rain will stop and then we can all get outside for a bit. Enjoy the day!

Another Easter Card Buffet Card

Here is another card that I came up with for the Easter Card Buffet.  I tried to come up with cards that would use different stamp sets.  I also have seen a number of cards that are using punch art to create Easter bunnies.  So this card uses punch art to come up with this cute backside view of the bunny.  Again on this card I used a pearls for his little tail and also for the centers of the flowers.

I used Calyspo Coral, Whisper White and Lucky Limeade for the color scheme for this card.  The DSP is called "FLORAL DISTRICT".  I always liked this DSP and it just seemed springy enough to use on this Easter Card.

Well another Grandma day.  I start out with 1 and then at noon the next baby comes.  Then before dinner I go and pickup the 3rd one at daycare.  So today will be a very busy day until their mommies come and pick them up. But I am not complaining, I love spending time with my boys. I know they will not be little forever and I am enjoying them while I can.  Enjoy your day!

Easter Card Buffet

I have been spending the last few days trying to get some cards done for my Easter card buffet and along with babysitting.  This week it has not gone all that smoothly.  John was off snowmobiling this past week.  And trying to watch the kids especially when you are watching more than one at a time, can be a challenge. Well enough of excuses, let's get to the cards.

This is one of the cards that I am offering at my card buffet.  I used one of the new Single Stamps "EARS TO YOU".  When I saw these bunnies, I thought of chocolate rabbits.  So I wanted to use Early Espresso for card stock and ink.  I also wanted to use a very pastel pink.  When I was done, it seemed to need a little bit more so I added pearls to their little behinds for their fluffy tails.

Although it is very simple, I like it.  Those little bunnies are adorable.  A reminder that this single stamp is available until the end of March.  You still have time to order it before Easter and be able to make some Easter cards with it.  Well today is a one grandson day.  I only am watching the smallest guy today so hopefully it will be a calm day.  Enjoy the day!

February Technique Class- Card 3

This is the last of the three cards that we made for my February Technique Classes.  This card took me the longest to come up with.  It took a couple of days because I kept changing colors, position of shapes, and choice of Embossing Folders.  This technique is called "Embossed Embossing".

This card uses a number of products which are FREE from the Sale-A-Bration brochure.  Just a reminder that this is the promotion where you can choose a free item from the brochure for every $50 worth of products that you spend.  The Embossing Folder and the Stamp Set on this card are just 2 of the items that you can choose for FREE.

I really like the way this finally came out.  I like the color combination.  This is my favorite color combination...Island Indigo, Pool Party, Lucky Limeade, and Calypso Coral.  I really will miss these colors when they retire this year.  These 4 colors are from the 2011-13 In Color collection.  So I guess I will be using the combination a lot until they go away.  Got to get some organizing done today so I will be busy.  Enjoy the day!

February Technique Class- Card 2

This is the second card that we will be making at my technique classes.  It uses the "SPLIT NEGATIVE" technique.  The one tip to use this technique is that you need to use a solid image stamp to get the best results.  I know that when you hear the word negative you think more of black and white but you can use any color to create the effect.  This card could be used for teens, males or females.  I think it is a very versatile card to give to anyone.

I am still not feeling well so this is another short post.  Hopefully over the weekend  I can shake it. Enjoy your weekend!

February Technique Class- Card 1

Sorry I have been missing but I finally caught what my family has been passing around to each other for the past 2 months.  And did I get hit hard with it!  Could barely talk and cough cough cough all day.  I tried to rest my 3 little boys would not allow that to happen.  So after they would leave I went straight to bed.  Today I am feeling a bit better so I wanted to get in a quick post while I still was feeling OK.

I love this card.  What I love is the absence of color.  to me it looks so delicate and ladylike.  The light pink colors just add to this really fresh and dainty look.  This card used the "MASKING" technique and uses the Delicate Details Lace Tape from the Spring Catalog.  If you would like to attend one of my technique classes and learn how to create this card, there is still room.  My classes this month will be held on:

Saturday February 16 @ 9-11:30 AM
Tuesday February 19 @ 9:15-11:45 AM
Wednesday February 20 @ 7-9:30PM

I was very surprised how this card turned out because in my head it did not start off as a card with a vintage look.  I hope you like it.  Today there will be no babies to watch so I intend to relax and rest so hopefully I start feeling better.  Enjoy the day!

You Are Loved

I love this stamp set.  I bought it last year but never got a chance to use it.  So this year I made a number of different cards using the set.  This is another card for the Valentine Buffet which I hosted last evening.  This card is so very simple but I like the simplicity of only 2 colors and a splash of glitz (the Red Glimmer Paper).  The supplies that I used for this project were:

STAMP SET:  You Are Loved
PAPER:  Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Red Glimmer Paper
INK:  Versamark
ACCESSORIES:  Cherry Cobbler Embossing Powder, Heating Tool, Lacey Brocade Embossing Folder, 5/8" White Organza Ribbon, Dimensionals, Sticky Strip

I think the Lacey Brocade Embossing Folder and the White Organza Ribbon give it an elegant feeling. After I made this card, I thought about changing the embossing to a mixture Cherry Cobbler EP and Iridescent Ice.  I think that would make the heart a little more sparkly but it was too late to change it.  But maybe when I have some time, I will try it just to see how it would change the look of the card.  That is the beauty of stamping, you come up with one idea but there are thousands of ways to change it.  It is a way for you to stretch your creativity and make it your own.

Well I am getting ready for the snow they are calling for.  I really do not expect a lot but we just have to wait and see.  Another babysitting day for me but only 1 today and then when he leaves I need to make Valentine sacks for treats.  Will post again after the weekend.  I will be working on Bridal Shower invitations with a friend of mine.  They are for her future daughter-in-law. So the weekend will be a busy one.  Enjoy your weekend!

A Valentine Buffet Card

Here is another card that we made at our Valentine Buffet last night.  This card uses my favorite Red Glimmer Paper.  I think that paper just adds a little spice to your cards.  I also used the "New"

The supplies that I used for this card were:

STAMP SET: You are Loved
PAPER:  Whisper White, Red Glimmer Paper, Real Red Core'dination Paper
INK:  Pretty in Pink, Basic Black
ACCESSORIES:  Embossing Folder, Hearts Collection Framelits, Lacey Brocade Embossing Folder, Needlepoint Border Embossing Folder, Small Heart Punch, Sanding Block, Rhinestone Jewels

I saw this card and I truly can not remember where or I would post it.  I did do some changes to it. But I thought it would be perfect  for a Buffet.  It os simple but oh so elegant.  I love the Embossing folder with the little scallop it is perfect to add just a little texture to the card.  Adding the Lacey Brocade embossing folder to the largest heart is great way to give the card a bit more character.  I was very happy how this card turned out.  Today is a cooking day.  My husband is leaving for Maine to do some snowmobiling for a week, so I am making some meals for him to take along.  And tomorrow I am back to being Grandma babysitter.  Although tomorrow I will only have the youngest, the 4 month old.  All I can say is I am loving the second job.  My payment of baby hugs is the best paycheck I have ever received!  Enjoy the day!

A Whale and Two Bags

For our Valentine Stamp Camp last Saturday one of our projects was a bag.  The bag was a CASE of a project Brian Pilling demonstrated to us at Leadership.  We thought it was so cute that we needed to include it at our Stamp Camp.  This is the bag that we made.  The supplies that we used for this project were:

STAMP SET:  Oh, Whale
PAPER:  Pool Party, Whisper White
INK:  Basic Gray, Pool Party, Melon Mambo
ACCESSORIES:  Whale Clearlit, Small Heart Punch, Melon Mambo Organdy Ribbon, Large Scallop Edgelit,  Cloud Embossing Folder

Janet Wakeland made a cute Goldfish Treat Holder using MDS and made the Whale in a "goldfish" color.  I thought it such a neat idea to connect the whale with the goldfish.  So anyway...I used the bag idea that we made but used the goldfish idea.  I made a couple of these bags and filled them with Goldfish Cracker bags and Dove Valentine Hearts for Eli's Teachers at Daycare.  Here is a peek at the bag.

It is really the same bag only I changed the ribbon and the color of the whale.  I think it is cute.  And I am hoping they will enjoy their Valentine treat.  It is so easy to take one idea and using the same basic concept, you can change it a bit to fit your needs.

Well I am off and running again today.  No grandchildren today but I need to get everything set up for my Valentine Card Buffet this evening.  Enjoy your day!

Eli's Valentines- Part 2

I know, I know... I am such a picky Grandmother.  I can't be satisfied with making 1 design for Eli's Class Valentine's but I had to make 2!  The stamp sets were jus so cute this year and I thought the girls would love to get a cute little whale for Valentine's day.  Just remember these are 2 year olds who really do not care what is on their card.  But I just felt the boys would appreciate the elephant and the girls would like a pink whale.  That thought helps to justify me making 2 different cards.   So her you see what I made for the girls.  The supplies that I used for this card were:

STAMP SET:  Oh, Whale, Be of Good Cheer, Teeny Tiny Wishes
PAPER:  Pretty in Pink, Pool Party, Whisper White
INK:  Real Red, Pool Party, Pretty in Pink
ACCESSORIES:  Dimensionals, Hearts Framelits

This is a card that does not open up.  I felt 2 year olds needed something very simple.  I am showing you the front and the back of the card.  I hope the kids like them.  I know Eli does.

Sorry I was late posting today but my Grandson that I babysit on Mondays was not feeling well and he needed a little extra love from Grandma today.  I am  sure you can understand.  Enjoy the day!

Eli's Valentines

Where Eli attends daycare, every Valentine's Day they have the kids exchange valentines.  Of course being Grandma and a crafty person, I feel that I should make them for him to give to his classmates.  They are supposed to be simple.  So I decided to use the Hearts Collection Framelits to make the base of the card.  When Eli saw this elephant, he got so excited so I knew that I just had to use that for his cards.  So this is what I came up with.  Very simple but oh does Eli like this card!  The supplies that I used for this card were:

STAMP SET:  Henry Says
PAPER:  Real Red, Whisper White, Basic Gray DSP, Red Glimmer Paper
INK:  Real Red, Basic Black
ACCESSORIES:  Hearts Collection Framelits, Big Shot, Small Heart Punch

I will say that the small Red Glimmer Paper heart was not in my original design.  But I  made a smudge there.  So I punched out the small and placed it there.  It looked good there so I decided to keep it there.  That little bit of glitz finished the card off.  Sometimes accidents are good things.  The card is so simple there is not much else that I can say.  But one thing I know is that Eli is happy Grandma made his valentine's this year!  Enjoy your day!
